I am not sure on the sbc heads but i had a set of the BBC heads and the machine shop i took them to. Said to get rid of them. Something about dropping seats out of the heads and destroying motors

Spend the extra money on a set of Patriots and dont look back man, they are not much more and are renowned already for performance and quality.

If you dont need aluminum, theese are cheaper and work great(wish i would have bought them):

I would rather use the cast iron and know there is quality or use the extra 300$ knowing that my motor is not going to be destroyed beating the hell out of it and get the aluminum.

I've been using a set for a couple years without issue. Here's a similar thread: Pro comp Heads Product Review (http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/aftermarket-product-review/359195-pro-comp-aluminum-heads.html)

I've seen a few sets, never seen any have any problems though. I think it was a Pro Comp head I saw that had loctite to keep the seats in :eyes:. Not a great head, but probably not bad either.
You should do some more iquiring about these heads. I have heard these have been coming from china and quality control was bad. When it comes to heads you usually get what you pay for. The Rhs or enginequest iron stuff should be pretty good. at gofastnews.com, david vizards website there is a good right up on the eq stuff under technical articles. If I remeber correctly the rhs and eq are basically pro action heads and i have ported those with great success (big airflow) very easily. Don't know your budget but this is the most important investment so buy something good. And don't buy extremely small ports if you want power, I would say 190cc min. I have no idea why people buy 180cc size ports, that just freakin tiny.

1.6 roller rocker arms 2.02/1.60 valves 550 lift springs +100 push rods paid $720.00 for everything my machine shop guy check them out and said these would be good for the street rod or mild drag car with porting the will come alive, He said there was few in the pass that needed cleaning up this was about 2 years ago. And he said some shops been been putting the heads down because they sale the higher price 1's and sometimes the higher price heads need cleaning to.

I like the Pro Action heads, they are reasonable, and i have seen some great figures and performance out of them, not sure about the Pro Comps though.

X2. I wouldn't put those heads on a stock motor when you have Dart, Brodix, or AFR heads available, that won't lose their seat integrity.

He said after porting the procomp heads on 383 motor with 775 cfm hp was 6200 rpm 558 hp at the fly wheel the cam was schheider lift was 537/540... in a street car / mild drag car. the porting on the heads was light. He had 7 motors with these heads install - World,Dart,AFR,Trick flow,Brodix,RHS,Canfield, the shop guy said for what I was doing the procomp heads is all I need, I just could not see my self spending $1400.00 to $2500.00 for set of heads. I'm building a street car may see the track but not sure. O if your running 600 or higher lift cam he said porting the heads would be best can give you some very good flow numbers...
I been checking a lot shops and the net about a lot of heads.
They cost me total $720.00 Procomp 210cc 2.02/1.60 valves 58cc chambers 1.6 roller +100 push rods 7/16 studs and guide plates. He bought the heads bear and install everything.... The shop guy said it's best to buy the heads bear or find a shop that buying them bear so they are check and build to order...

I have no direct info, but all my buddies that have used them could not be happier, especially for the price. Dyno wise, my buddies 01 Z28 put down 414 RWHP with shitty exhaust, Patriot stage II with cam and tune(conservative for break in).

Hey Jag, so how long have you been running this setup?

I just got them in.... but a freind of mind he has 327/40 motor that he had the heads install last year install in May of 08, hp out 327 -545 hp- if you click on the links I posted you can see the heads.
I had the the procomp 64cc heads and sold them and bought the procomp 58cc heads.....
For the price of the TFS or AFR heads look at all the items I was able to buy.
Buy the heads from a machine shop or some 1 that go's through them. I talk to few shops and speedunlimited they are up the street from me. The thing every 1 said you will not see high flow number unless your running a big cam lift around 600 and up... that's when porting comes in to play. Summit put the heads down about a year ago now they said
good heads, Jegs selling them now. They are really catching on. Super Car automotive
had about 8 heads set on the bench for me and showed me flow numbers and how the motor can lose power if the heads or to big. It's hard finding people to be true about things... For me I'm looking to save money. Way anything out and check the net....
Procomp has clean up the act from a year or 2 ago.... I no 12 people running the heads
and are very happy. Like you I and to find people that use the heads. And the shop guy showed me how to port the heads my self.... to.
I can email you pics of them jagcompany@aol.com
also check this out this right http://www.musclemustangfastfords.co...est/index.html

I got them off of ebay, Skip White - pricing any where from $535.00 to $635.00 Ask all question when you talk to him about the procomp heads and there are a lot of forums where people been very happy with the heads.
I'm very happy with my set up, the 210 runners with the air gap manifold work real good for me the torque is very strong... My buy another set of heads as a spire set....

i actually bought a complete set of the 210's and were very happy with them. Although i never actually got around to try them on my new motor, i ran out of funds and im trying to sell my complete heads right now (if anyone's interested, let me know).
For their good reviews, cheaper prices, and decently built structure i would deff. use them over any dart, edelbrock, or AFR heads for the street. And Skip White was actually the one who convinced me to buy these heads.

Now that's funny skip white to was a big help in buying them, but also a few other people to. I had the 210 64cc never install them sold them for a 58cc pair. I would buy another pair... So your selling your set of procomp heads
69Camaro...

yeah skips reviews and results from his own experience with these heads was a good motivation for me. When i saw the numbers from his dyno results, he had me sold. I spent a good month lurking google looking at threads and experiences people had with them.
I sent you a message, btw
