Hey guys doing some research for a buddy with 1985 corvette L98 motor he is wanting to do heads/cam swap. anyways wondering if the old school double hump style heads would fit the block? anything need to be done special ect? same with cam and intake what will work what wont thanks

theres better heads than double humps, heck i wouldnt go with anything less than some 062 vortecs, anything else would be a downgrade really for oem heads choices.

are the 85's roller cam or hydraulic

Another thought about changing the heads is that the L98's have a 58cc chamber. Swapping heads without milling will lower your compression which is not good from a power standpoint.

Changing the heads to vortec's is going to require you to change the base plate also due to the different bolt pattern. Changing the heads does not do you much good until you do something about the intake since it is so restrictive. You can get an edelbrock baseplate and runners and that will help it a lil bit. IMO, dont give up on the efi, its better than having to deal with a carb in cold weather and such.
