That is very gay. Who is that guy writing that, and what are his connections? He says that the camaro will be back in 2007, so is he just :bs: or can we take that as "fact"? :huh:

I don't know who the guy is but I've been visiting that site for a couple years and usually when he posts something it ends up being true later...so he's either in a high enough position in GM where he would have this knowledge or he has good connections. He always states that the articles are rumors unless he has indisputable proof that it's true. Supposedly the Camaro will be back in '07, so I would say the Solstice story probably could be true.

I personally like the solstice. I like the name "Solstice", I like the idea of an AWD sports car that weighs about the same as a civic and has a 240hp supercharged ecotech engine. As for putting the Firebird name on it I think that is possibly the dumbest marketing move Pontiac could ever make. Surely they have more sense than this. The people that love Firebirds won't buy them if they do that because it's not a real Firebird. The people that like little 4banger pocket rockets won't buy them because it bears the name of their mortal enemy. If they want to sell the car I think the name Solstice would be perfect for selling that thing. It's new, original, and it fits the car. I'm with you I hope they bring the Firebird back but not like that. I also hope they put the Solstice into production as they were originally supposed to as the AWD supercharged 2.2L micro machine. So later on down the road I can get one and then throw an LS1 into it to give it some real performance :devil: .

When all this stuff comes out with my new K5 Blazer and 5080 Camaro I will believe it, till then its all rumors which I believe as fake.

There's so much BS flying around about the f-bods return that there is no way to decipher any truth out of it. They need to leave the name alone until they are ready to make a REAL comeback with it and kick the Mustang in the nuts- HARD!
As for the Solstice, it's great, if you want an Amercian alternative to the Miata, Z3, or CLK.

What does everybody think of the Pontiac Solstice concept car. I was reading a rumor on the net today that it may be the next Firebird. So, even though it is a rumor, I thought I'd ask.
Love it? Hate it?...Think it's suitabvle to replace the Firebird?

If the price {around 20-25K} and the performance {2600lbs +/- and 240hp} is really what the car mags have been reporting on,,,,,then yea I like it.
If those numbers are correct, I wouldn't even care if they did call it a Firebird as the straight-line numbers should be close to the F-Body and it "should" beat the crap out of the F-Body in the corners.
Saying that, I really do not think that they would ever name it Firebird. The people that the car will be marketed to were not the kind of folks that were all revved-up about the old Firebird. I really think that they will want to start off with a brand new slate.
