Looking at this 1972 Chevelle, guy said the engine is a LT1 out of a Vette, asked him about the year and HP/TQ but he had no idea and stated the prior owned did all the work...can anyone help me out here with the year at HP/TQ of it...

dont think its a lt1 cause of the manual fuel pump.

IT is probably the original LT-1. Kinda like ls6 and ls7 were big block chevies originally

Yea about 90% of people selling sbc's claim they are "vette" motors and about 1% really are. You need to check the # in front of the right head to see what it really is.

ha spark plugs look too easy to get to for it to be an lt1. maybe early tpi.

Ed is right, could be a early 70-73 LT1. To be sure you would have to check all the numbers on the motor.
My 70RS/Z had a factory 370HP LT1 and it had factory solid lift cam.

well it is a 70's motor because the dipstick is on the drivers side of that motor it appears because i dont see one on the pass side. if i do remember right the LT1 from the 70's had angled plug heads so is it is an LT1 someones changed the heads

But seriously what are the numbers on the back of the block? What numbers are under the valve covers?
