has anyone tried this pre turbo water injection idea? got any logs or data from it? i have heard some VERY intresting things about it. sounds like you have to make sure you run LOTS of presure and spray as fine as you can.

Anyone got any coments??

Also could water bve injected before a centri SC???

Cheers,

Chris.

been done many times

with high speeds of turbos and centrifugals, there is a "potential" for erosion of the blades due to the high speed impact... this usually occurs over long periods of time or if you have very large droplets

However, having experience with this, you can make your water injection very cheap and simple...

Buy bottle capable of holding water and sustaining max boost pressure inside it, buy two lines, and a nozzle. The nozzle is the only "sizing" aspect

Connect one line between intake manifold and water bottle, install nozzle to the ducting before the boosting device and connect another line between the nozzle and the water bottle (make sure this line connects to the bottom of the bottle)

viola

The water will evaporate inside the boosting device (assuming your running enough pressure to create temperatures above 100 C) so the mixing will happen after the intercooler when it condenses again, i.e. your nozzle spray pattern wont matter.

thanks DanO. i have heard of Bike guys running this kind of setup. i guess space is an issue so trying to fit a tank and a pumps is hardwork.

Have you tried this yuorself?

i have also posted this in the FI section and got some intresting feedback. basically it def works! lol

Chris.
