With pontiac and saturn gone, will gm rebadge this vehicle?

Nope. GM said no cars from Pontiac will be re badged...Most were already a rebadge and all they have that would be worth it are the G8 and Solstice but they already said no to that. Saturn is doomed in the same way.

From what I've heard, they are both gone.

They were both scheduled to be done at the end of their life cycle. This was announced a LONG time ago before all of this stuff started happening. I think it would make a cool Buick - something to give the Buick/GMC dealer some buzz.

No. They didn't make any money, so they'd cancelled soon even if Saturn and Pontiac stuck around.

definately would be cool to see a buick/gmc sky. i am not as much of a fan of the soltice look. G6 i think would fit in nicely for a base model buick or gmc.

G8 GXP could get a spike in sales due to this. that would be cool :cool:

I wonder how many more of these types of posts there will be about cars getting rebadged.

I cannot believe they will not bring the G8 in as a Chevy, WTF.

I stopped by my neighborhood GM dealership and saw a used g8 w/ 2K miles on sale for $26K...I almost gave in!! :drool: but I want a stick shift GXP.

They were supposed to make them from the beginning. Remember the Chevy tigershark or stingray or whatever? It was a sky based chevy and they were going to use a v-6, i think caddys 3.6 that now graces the g6/g8

I remember the plan was to redesign the Impala using the new flex-factory that the new Camaro is being built in. I think that plan was scrapped due to the new eco guidelines (RWD cars don't get good gas mileage, or so the saying goes). I could be wrong though.

RWD on average uses 1 MPG more than FWD...so they needed FWD to meet the new CAFE standards.

A couple days ago I spotted a new silver G8 GT at the local GMC/Pontiac dealer, I gave in and bought it lol. Great car..

Shame to see the Solstice and G8 go..

No, they are incredibly expensive to manufacture and do not turn a profit at their price point.
