Small Block & Big Block Chevy Specific - 73 454 "239" casting.

Found one complete for 550.00, just wondering if its worth the money, it does say "Hi Perf Pass" on block & heads, but was told the casting # said it came out of a truck, cylinders are in very good shape, i'm basically looking to re-ring it & maybe turn it to make some $$$, what will one of these go for freshened up, say with new rings/bearings/oil pump/fresh V-job/timing set?? Should i grab it for the 550.00??

Its a "289" casting (not 239), the heads are the 236 "peanut port"

Buying a big block to make money isnt the smartest move right now. IT may be a 4 bolt block. But the heads are junk unless you want a torque monster that falls on its face at 4500 rpm

Yeah thats what i thought about the heads, its a 2 bolt main.

u want the "990" castings....
