I have an '01 ss 6spd. with 4.10's, the engine is an LS6 with a Texas-Speed 233/239 cam with .595/.603 lift and 112 LSA, longtubes, no cats and a SLP lid and MAF. I had it dyno tuned and it makes 415 hp and 389 ft-lbs to the rear wheels. The problem I am having is that my personal best is 12.78 at 108 and some change. When I had the stock engine with a tune and 3.42 gears I ran 12.56 at about 106-107. Any opinions/suggestions would be appreciated.

That is really bizarre. My first instinct was to say that you can't drive worth a damn. But if you pulled a 12.5 when it was almost stock then you must be decent for sure. The trap speed is what is disconcerting. That thing should be running 117 MPH no problem. How much time was there between the dyno and your 1/4 passes? Maybe something went wrong in between? The dyno numbers and the MPHs just don't match up, unless your car weighs 4500 lbs.

something sounds like it went retarded from the dyno to the track.. how does it feel, does if feel strong? looks like that would be a sop diff in the wrong direction..

If you're really putting down around 415 and 390, you should absolutely be trapping 116-117 without a problem. Something is either seriously wrong with the lights/computer at the track or your dyno is way off. The only other option is that something got seriously screwed up with your car between the day it was dynoed and the day you took it to the track. I'm going with option C because the dyno numbers sound fairly accurate for the mods. I'd do basic service/maintenance stuff (check sparkplugs, etc) and if it's still trapping 106, DEFINITELY take it back to the dyno/tuner to check it.

Did you look at the wrong side of the timeslip? :jest:
