I am trapping as high as 116mph, and I cut low 1.6x 60fts, and I can still only get a 12.04:bang::bang::mad:. What am I doing wrong?

that don't make any sense with that 60' and the speed. I was running upper 11's at that speed on a 1.7x 60'. don't know what to tell ya there.

Post your time slip maybe some of us can see how your 330, 8th mile and 1000 ft. times compare to our 11 sec. slips......your good 60ft. and trap speed is more than enough I would say, somethings up.

1.63 60ft 1.68----think I spun a tad
4.946 330ft 4.99
7.693 1/8th 7.74
90.88 mph 91.06
12.04 et 12.07
114.2 mph 114.4
Here are two of them. I have one more where I trapped 116 with 1.63 60ft. I have several of them laying around here somewhere. These are pretty average. This is a 6spd car, and an 01 ws6 since my sig doesn't say it

Hmmm......the only thing I can see by looking at some of my many timeslips is that you might be loosing a little bit between your 60ft. and 330 compared to mine but I have an auto. Also my 8th mile et is a tiny bit quicker but your mph equals and betters mine on most passes.....I have run many 12.0 passes and a few high 11's but that was in really good air in nov. Your car has me easily covered in hp and should be in the 11's.....Maybe some m6 guys can chime in. And this time of year the air and the da is not that good. You will certainly be in the 11's in better air but I know that doesn't make you feel any better now.

Here are 3 of my slips that are close to yours to compare:
1.651 60ft 1.640 1.649
4.904 330ft 4.890 4.886
7.617 1/8th 7.604 7.589

12.00 et 11.97 11.94
112.24 mph 112.77 113.27
Hope this helps you a little.
Post your 1000ft. if its on your slip.

1000ft isnt on the slip. I would hate to say its my tuner, he does a lot of guys around here and their cars run fantastic, all deep in the 11's with their cam only setups. You guys think it could be my gears and tire combo? I need more practice for sure on the slicks and skinnies, I have only went out to the track on them two times. Maybe I cant drive? But if that was the case and I couldnt shift worth a damn wouldnt that show up in the mph?

What gear through the traps and at what RPM?

I'm thinking this is the culprit. Your MPH shows the car has some power, and the 60' is pretty good for an M6 car, so this seems like the logical choice.

I wouldn't really say it was your driving although looking at your 60fts. vs. your 330s maybe your 1-2 or 2-3 shift is costing you a little et but I am no 6spd. guru. And 4.30s with a 28" tire sounds about right from what I have been told. Either way practicing and getting seat time you will improve on those ets, good luck, you have a nice car there!

You're losing it on the top end. The 114 in the slips you listed is gonna put you right where you are in the 12.0 range with a 7.6 1/8. Not impossible to hit an 11.9 as you're right there, but another mph up top would do it. With those 1/8 mile stats, it's a simple matter of power up top that you don't quite have. Like I said, definitely possible you'll do it in the future if you nail that launch and every shift, but based on the trap and 1/8 you're right where you should be for that trap speed.
Let me ask you this, on the 115-116 trap speed runs were your 60's also in the 1.6 range and how about your 1/8 numbers on those runs? A 7.6 1/8 with a 116 trap should do it if you don't screw up the shift.

But if I was shifting like shit wouldnt the mph be lacking as well? I would think if I shift really slow, I would have an even shittier mph

I am thinking I am leaving some on the table with the 1-2 shift myself. My car revs so quick with these gears the tach isnt even close. It will smack the limiter around like 5.5k if I remember, well before my shift point. Limiter is set at 6.5k btw. I have a harlan shift light sitting right here to install before the next runs. Thanks for the compliment :D

When you say the 114 puts me right where I am, is that because of the 1/8th mile time is slow? I am thinking its somewhere lower, my buddies trap 113-114mph and run as low as 11.6x's with a 6spd. The run where I trapped a 116 I actually only cut a 1.8 60ft. This was one of my first runs ever on the slicks and I didnt leave extremely hard. The time came in at a 12.40.
I appreciate all the help guys

Man, to be honest on the rpm I dont really remember. Its at the top of 4th gear though. Just not sure on the exact rpm.

The reason I asked it there are some calculators on line like this one that you input your RPM's, tire size, rearend ratio and final trans gear ration and it calculates the MPH.
At 5800 rpms you are at 112, 6000 rpms you are at 116

I run near you but best trap is 112 MPH with an A4. You should be 11's but somewhere you are losing it. Maybe spinning on gear change?

possible, but the m6's typically trap higher anyway. I dont see how the hell you are cutting sub 1.6 60's with that much weight lol. I am thinking I need some more seat time, I might go make some passes tomorrow and see how it goes. I will be happy with just a high 11 sec pass

I was shocked at the 60' too on DR's. I really didn't think it would do it considering the car is lowered 1" with BMR springs and has the front sway still in on Bilstein shocks. It comes out real hard! I have a 3.70 9" going in and plan on doing the short belt trying to get high 11's. I think it has a 1.55 60' in it. With the 9" in place I can run full slicks so I may do that and see just how low I can get it. Should be fun!
BTW... The 1.59 was with 1/2 tank of gas. It actually 60's better with more gas in the tank. Now if I could learn how to lighten without cutting the car up

Chris, you just need some seat time. Ive watched those videos alot and also being there that day runnin with yall I noticed that when I actually sat down and watched you make a pass. You need to do a longer burn out and your launch technique needs a little work also. Basically all this amounts to is seat time. I kept a log of my runs when I went so I could keep up with what worked and what didnt. Mainly launch rpms and psi was my problem, but I got that figured out now. I'm plannin on goin back next weekend. Anytime you want someone to watch and go out on the pad to help you out (which is alot easier) let me know and I'll help you out the best I can. Gotta get you whoopin steve worse than a tenth :D
Hey Jay, what up??
I think it's your shifting personally. Don't concentrate on MPH. I ran 11.91@111. Practice those shifts.

In my opinion if your shifting slow it dont mean your mph will "suck" it just means it wont be at its full capabillity. Maybe you do have a 115 mph plus car. Whats your setup as far as clutch and hydrolics?

Thats a nice set up. Do you have any video of you shifting inside the car? I would take a video and look back on it to see if theres room for improvement. Also look at videos of your runs.

your 1/8 mph seems on the $ for the e.t., but it does seem like it should run 1 or 2 mph faster in the 1/4
get out there and bang them gears man!
full throttle shift that ho and watch the numbers fall haha
