ok i was driving around my friends neighborhood and pulled away from a stopsign and my car straight up died. and it wasnt a sputtering die, it just quit as if a fuse blew or something. so my first thought was ignition or spark. checked the wires on the distributer and my spark is just fine. then i thought it was the fuel pump and so i turned the key to see if i could hear it and it dont come on. however like i said it didnt die like other vehicles have done when the fuel pump goes out. plus i dont even hear a tick or anything when i turn the key from the fuel pump. therefor i was thinking it might be the relay. might anybody have an idea to kinda help me out please. my car is over at my friends house like 50 miles from my home and i need to get it back here and dont have money for a tow truck.

You might have to do a google search, but I think the relay is on the firewall right behind the brake booster. You can swap the MAF burn off relay with the fuel pump relay and turn the key on.

If it still has nothing, it may be time for a new pump.

Another thing you can try, is take a piece of wood or a hammer and lightly hit the gas tank to see if the "shock" will get the pump to work again enough to drive it home.

Good luck man
