Stereo & Electronics - Can i install 2 sets of 6.5 speakers in the front and middle and just cut out the....

two in the hatch?

I just want to replace the speakers but the stock amp doesnt really have much power for all the speakers.

Your gonna have to do some nice wiring on the fronts because the monsoon system has 4 wires going to each speaker, 2 for the mid and 2 for the tweeter. Your new aftermarket speakers will have two posts for two wires... there is a sticky on how to wire in this situation.

As far as the sail panels, they are mid bass speakers so youll probably be loosing some bass by puting the 6.5s you listed. As for me, I have a kicker amp and solo baric L7 so obviously I dont need that extra bass so I did exactly what you are wanting to do. If you have an aftermarket sub/amp then id say go for it but if not, then your gonna have to ask yourself if you want that extra bass.The two in the hatch dont do much but id keep em plugged in unless your rewiring your entire car with a new 4 or 5 channel amp.

Ditto, I have a set of components in the doors, (I ran 4 wires from the doors to teh crossovers in the back hatch area. The center speakers, I have 2 midbass drivers from a component set in that location as well, all driven off of a 4 channel amp.

I also have a JL 10w3d2 in a stealthbox, so I wasn't concerned with losing the bass from the center speakers.

hmm....well, damn. I dont think best buy has 6.5in. subs.... im gettign a good deal on those speakers, like 120 for 2 sets....so i want to stick with best buy.

I have a friend hooking up the speakers but i dont think hes familiar with the monsson setup.

wouldnt keeping the 2 in the hatch require too much power fro the stock amp?

I would look at keeaudio man... hes a sponsor and has package deals for our cars that come with the 6.5 midbass sail speakers and 6.5s for the doors... he has a few different packages.

Any kind of speaker you're getting two sets of for $120.00 probably aren't much better than your stockers to be honest. Kee Audio sells solid speakers for not much more. Considering the work you're going to put into the system, you might not want to undercut the quality of the speaker you're putting in...

well im getting them at a discount....they sale for like 105 a set.
