That's funny & it wouldn't surprize me to learn that it's part of scheduled maintenance. Marketing, what a bunch of nonsence.

Am wondering about the 3.73's. Seems a bit much for that much power & low profile tires. Perhaps it should be called the "Drifting package." Heay, at least the Mustang is still around. Who knows what's to happen with the state of the US auto industry. We are fortuneate to have any true muscle car(s) to use & discuss.

I just now noticed/realized how oddly proportioned that car is. It's got a HUGE front end and no ass! Other than that it looks really good! I like the hood and the wheels and the power package looks great!

Nope. That's a perfect gear for it.

Really? The package states 20" wheels & it looks like the tire profile is 30 or 35. Seems to me like even @ low boost (under the curve), she aught to break loose. Was thinking that a 3.23:1 would be better.

Is it a heavy car? Maybe that's the equalizer.

It's likely kissing 4,000lbs like the GT500.

Wow that is awesome except for the price. $30K plus the price of a GT500 is too much IMO. Though, it would be bad ass to own what has to be one of the last true Shelby's.

The S197 GT500 uses 3.31's (Mustang's 8.8 doesn't support the 3.23's) and people were complaining about not enough gear. As far as I know, the 3.73's are about perfect. 4.10's would be a bit much, and 3.55's not quite there.

OK guys, 3.73:1 it is. I have no experience w/ Mustangs & I know that Unit has alot of Mustang driving experience. It's just surprizing to me. 630 to 725 is alot of HP & related TQ to put to pavement.

BTW, Sarge, Hope things have improved for you.

Agreed. The 1/4 window accessories need to go. They've been done to death on the new Mustangs, and they just ruin the side profile of this Shelby. I also agree that the hood is a bit "WTF-ish", but from what I read it was shaped for proper proportioned airflow under the hood cooling. So it's kinda........ehh.......ok I guess since it does have function. Just wish it looked more like the old KR hood.

Cool car the hood could be better. I am not a Mustang man but i would drive it.

the front end looks killer, but, what happened to the rest of the car? Did they design the front and then forget the rest? Its like the Cobra R all over again. Shelby himself is way too old to be doing this, im guessing hes outta the picture and its a team of professionals carrying on his name? I dont know, i dont keep up with Blue Oval stuff. But that front end is KILLER!

Interesting.. I don't really care for the hood. Throw the wheels and motor in a regular GT-500 and I'd be happy.

My wife and I did the tour of Shelby World Headquarters [thats what they call it] about 2 weeks ago..at Las Vegas Speedway.....nice little museum, gift shop, and they took us in the back where they work..4 days a week --10 hr days......saw lots of Snakes, and there were 6 original Cobra's in the museum....it is free....go to it, if you ever can...it was pretty cool.....

Oh really, I would have thought that it would have been lighter. Seems like I read somewhere that it had some lighter materials in her.
