Road Racing - Top 5 mods for tight hard bends

Hi,
I'd like to improve my car towards being able to handle the country lanes around where I live.
There are lots of tight, narrow s bends, with limited vision, few straights, and lots of small 2 seaters giving me a hard time.
What kind of things should I be looking into doing, that would help my car?

Search the suspension section.
#1: Shocks by a long shot. I see you have the konis listed as a future mod, get those on your car and go from there.
#2: Tires.
And now in no particular order:
Good springs
Good swaybars
*ditch the relocation brackets
Those are the main things to get the biggest improvement. Another mod you may want to consider is a watts link.

I totally agree w JD.
I would only add a good alignment. As much posetive caster and negative camber as possible, and zero toe.

I would only add to consider some weight reduction and also never underestimate the BEST mod.......Driver ability and experience.
If you are asking what can make your car handle better that just means you don't have a good grip on how a suspension works and probably small to none RR or AutoX experience.
Dont under estimate how different dd skills and real course skills differ....it's a big opposite.
Dont get offended, I wasnt trying to say you don't no shit...but take the time to do your homework with your driving and suspension tunning.

I was checking really to see if mabey I had overlooked something. I know I could use some more seat time, as this is just a weekend car.
Shame you said ditch the relo brackets, I only just got them in :eyes:
I'd like to keep my car fairly stock, so I'm not sure where I could lose extra weight from, and I have been looking at the weight reduction list.

If it's already just a weekend car...why not start investing in thoughtful lightweight mods?
Since you don't want to strip her in anyway....at least not yet.
There is wallet mods that will save you weight.
Lightweight hood save = 60 - 40lbs depending on the brand and style.
Lightweight battery save = 20lbs
Racing Seats = save you 20 - 30lbs again depending on brand and style.
Remove Rear Seats is Free = 20lbs
granted they can go back in anytime.
Just adding that up it's close to 100lbs if you do it smart and tastefully.
100lbs is referred to 10hp and 1/10th off your drag time, do I need to mention it will help weight transfer basically easier on your suspension and tires.
Dont make the mistake and take too much of the rear...I learned that the hard way!

I say that subframe connectors should be on that list as well. Those and shocks made a big difference for me.

If you are lowered then the relo brackets are putting
you back to fairly balanced. On a stock height car
you can bias too far toward launch and degrade
braking (possibly even brake-hop).
But I would like explained, how they affect cornering
at all. They should improve the ability to corner
under power (though possibly hurt decel cornering).

if youre doing shocks/springs, youll be lowering the car, and NEED the reloc. brackets, along with quality adjustable LCAs.
you can only do so much if youre talking very tight, hard turns. these are big, heavy cars, and arent at their best in tight situations. if you ever get to a road course, preferably an open, fast one, youll see where these cars really shine. thats why little cars like miatas and minis do so well in autoxs, yet fall far behind on any real course.
