The web site says 3,200watts RMS @ 1ohm. Some quick math tells me that running it cranked will draw 200+ amps. That's a considerable amount of SPL.
WARNING: Continued exposure to high DB of SPL can and will cause permanent hearing loss.

the amp has 5 40a Fuse.
calculating tells me:
5 x 40 = 200a
200 x 14.4 = 2,880w
This is not including voltage drop and efficiency.

You don't happen to have a diagram on how you're going to wire them do you?

What are the specs on the subs?
EDIT: One question for you ... I'm going with an RE SE Series Sub 4ohm and a Hifonics Brutus BX1600D. How would you go about wiring it up? Would you do a 2ohm load or an 8ohm load? Thanks for the help!

The web site says 3,200watts RMS @ 1ohm. s.
At 100% THD.
These amps are shit. You cannot get an amp that big for what you paid for this amp. A 3200 watt amp is usually considerably larger in size as well. I run a 1200w RMS amp that makes this thing look like a calculator.
Sorry to rain on your parade. You are considering pioneer subs with this thing? That will sound sound great. There is now way in hell that this amp puts out the power that it says it does. It's like AudioBahn or any other flea market brand. Chinese shit.

And this is a paperweight.

im not gonna stand up for it BUT, i read in other forums that it was tested at 16 volt and it made 3472watts.

ok guys i made up my mined,
since my amp puts out small power ill go with the Alpine SWR-1542D,
IMO 15 in sub will give more bass than 12" sub in a same giving power coz of its larger surface area.

Most cars are closer to 13.8-14.2. They are b/s'ing the numbers. Power Acoustik has never been one for CEA compliance. They find a way to fudge on all of that. I'm just saying there's no earthly way you are getting clean power out of an amp that claims to be that many watts RMS at 16v, then is as big as a shoe box, and costs a quarter of what amps that do that much power honestly.

I guess Alpine is about the right subwoofer to pair with a Power Acoustik amp ;)
Seriously though, Alpine subs are nothing special.

Those are only 500w RMS each right? That amp is probably going to push out a constant 2k rms at 1 ohm, I wouldnt expect those type r's to last very long, have you looked into AQ? Very nice stuff. I have their SDC 2.5 10", running about 800rms to it, barely gets warm, just be easy with the gain, or youre gonna get a cabin full of smoke lol.
Engine_HP
07-28-2009, 09:29 PM
^^^^ on the box it says 750rms but ppl have been runing them to 1k with no problems Plus there 3 years waranty on them no need to worry.
the PA bamf is rated 3200rms @ 1ohm very over-rated, i guess ill see 1400 @ 1ohm or less

ill try to put some pics and do a video soon.

For what you paid and the equipment you picked it should pair up nicely. Whatever you do DONT turn the BAMF's level control past like 3/4. Ive dealt with these at my shop and they get real dirty sound quality wise once you start cranking the gain and leave the boost alone(all the way down). I'm not a fan of the Power Acoustik equipment by any means but they have come a long way from where they were a few years back. I get aggrevated with companies like that when they give noobs to the audio world a false sense of HUGE power output when in actuality they are just dirtying up your sound and not very well made.
Im not knocking your setup. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and if you researched what you were looking for in your budget and this is the equipment you picked then more power to ya.
I saw the link to the Sundown equipment and while they make awesome stuff and I mean awesome!!, when you are ready to look into a sub that can handle massive power and thumps hard go here: https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraudio.com/sess/utn;jsessionid=154a822308aa30e/shopdata/0050_Speakers/0010_BTL/product_overview.shopscript
Sorry for such a long link but you will be blown away by these subs. I am saving for them now while I work the crap out of my W6s. lol
Either way good luck with it and post some pics of the install when your done man!!

yeah i have the amp gain 1/2 way up and the boost at 2.
the type-rz are the best i can find here, searched hard and couldn`t find plus i didnt want to pay hundereds $ for shipping subs,
i couldnt challenge the shipping price of the amp, thats why i bought it.
yeah i forgot to say, from first day the front windshield got broken :P

Glad to see it worked out well for you, make sure you break em in first haha, and I think I saw a birthsheet for the bamf and it was around 2k-2.2k rms at 1 ohm n 13-14 volts? Not bad for the price.
