Was very surprized to see what it weighed. Tip the scales at 3590 without me in it. Thought that was kinda impressive considering no weight reduction and a 1/4 tank in it.

wow, we're supposed to be about 100 lbs. heavier than the hardtops and t-tops, that's strange.

WTF!!?? That is light! I thought we were closer to 3800/4000!? How much do the HT and TT weigh?

Sounds about right. Is your car fully loaded? abs, traction control, etc?

Yup it's fully loaded to the gill. Damn forgot I got about 30lbs of crap in my truck too when it was weighed.

sounds about right. My car weighed 3550 with me in it, fully loaded T Top WS6. I only weigh 165, so its about 3385 lbs. Only had a 1/4 tank however, maybe slightly less.

Bro, you are way off. No wonder you are surprised. A 4th gen LS1 Camaro w/T-tops weighs generally 3420-3440 depending on exact options. a Convertible LS1 Camaro weighs about ~150 more with power top. I think manual top cars are a few pounds less.
Hardtop stripper LS1 Camaros will be in the mid to high 33xx pound range.

F-bodies come with plastic bumpers-hood-fenders-outer door skins . Also the motor sits way back in the chassis . All GOOD things for drag racing and gas mileage .
The new Camaro's I think come with an all steel body and loaded down with hi-tech stuff
like computers that will tattle-tale on you for racing so they can deny your warrenty claims .

All 4th gen factory hoods are steel except for WS6 and SS.
The 5th gen has all steel body panels and an aluminum hood.

Let's not forget we have steel rear quarter panels too.

All 4th gen f-bod 'verts had power tops. I'm not aware of any power-top-delete cars, except for those who's owners removed the motor / cylinders. And yes, removing the motor / cylinders saves you maybe 15-20 lbs.

 I might be suffering from early Alzheimers. My memory is a little foggy, but in 1997 or 1998, I borrowed a '96 V6 Camaro Convertible from a buddy for a long weekend. I could swear it had a manual top. I clearly remember having to get out of the car to fold the top down and then get out again to raise it back up later. Perhaps the top motor was broken and I don't remember that part. I do clearly remember having to raise and lower it by hand and then get back in the driver's seat and latch it down, etc.
Our '98 'Vert that we currently own is the only one we have ever had, and it is power top. I don't have experience with a lot of Camaro 'verts... but I still could swear that '96 that I borrowed had a manual top.

take that 3590
add me 200
roll bar 60
subframes 20?
iron block 85
4l80 40
8.8 rear 20
turbo kit 70
......now you see why my street weight is 4000+ with some weight reduction. Trans Ams are generally heavier than camaros

TWS - I think most likely the top's power options either were deleted/non functional.
Just food for thought, some c4's had manual tops.

hmm.... so you are saying basically a black box that records mph, engine cycles and other parameters to record abuse on a car.
Its software, its not an issue. Theres always a work around ;)
Its kinda lame that these cars have these devices on them like a parent would have it put on for a teenager to record every irrational driving moment.
OP- my car weight was about 36xx with half a tank's gas, and few textbooks.
