Other Special Events - Woodward Dream Cruise 2009 Aug 15th

Just wondering since this is about a month away on the weekend of 8/15, who plans to go this year and is it worth a long drive, if you have never seen it?

I'm there every year! Can't wait.

what is the info on this get together? When, Where, What cars are welcome ect... thanx in advance

I imagine you trailer your rig? or drive? I reallllllllly want to make this but I cant get all the pieces of the puzzle to lone up, form the gulf coast I imagine this is the better part of a 2 day drive one way, so basically I need to book 5 days min...how do you guys do it? :confused:

Would a G8 be welcome there? I am coming from St. Louis and I can't wait...it will be my first one.

Alot of people from out of state come the weekend before. It goes on everyday starting the weekend before and the peek times are from 7pm-10pm during the week.

We have just been doing a Camaro & Firebird Cruise every morning since 2000 with our Club and in 2004 we invited anyone with a camaro or firebird to join us and we started parking in this spot in 2004. We want to get as many camaro and firebirds to come out and hangout as we can. Plus it's FREE so it's like a big cruise-in all day.

Is 75 still shut down around downtown? That really screwed me up last year, added and hour to my trip.

75 is completely open now. There were ways to get around it on side streets, but unless you knew the area, it was tricky.

Awesome, I don't know the area all that well but did end up getting off that stupid 375 I think it was that took me half way to Chicago and took the side streets to get back on 75 south thanks to the gps on my iPhone but it still took forever. I have been from my home in Cleveland to Detroit more then 20 times so I know the basic layout but shutting down 75 to get to the northern burbs of the big d really fucked me up. Thanks for the info.

I take 275 to 696 ---pretty quick. We go up friday--but it's busy all week.

Actually I have another question...where are the best bars/clubs to go to at night? I've been to a few somewhere around I think 7 mile and livernois...I saw a club in Pontiac that looked like it was just opening last time I was up there that looked like a good spot, but is there a strip somewhere that has a bunch of bars close to each other?

I am passing on woodward this year. instead i'm going to flint for their Back to the Bricks Cruise the same weekend, last year they had 20,000+ cars. Plus Livernois will be out there with their portable dyno, so I am all for watching!

Time Change for F-Body Cruise - After some discussions the cruise will be later that afternoon. Aprox. 3pm or so, the time change should allow for more people to join up in the F-Body Cruise.

CARFREAKS - Yes it is ok, it is a public parking lot. We have others coming too with all different types of vehicles.

I thought I saw you during the week because there was a car there just like yours from out of state and I looked but it was from Illinois.

We changed the time but didnt go as a big group because alot of things but we had small groups go out for short cruises.

Was alot of fun!
