Well i went to virginia speed today to get a baseline dyro on my ws6
to see what it has in it. The previous owner put headers, high flow cats true duels, lid and mail in tune done to it before i bought it. The only thing wrong with the car that he told we was it had ses light for both banks running lean.
He had a ls6 intake on it but took it off and put the original ls1 intake on it when he sold it to me and said ever since he changed the intakes the ses light came on, so in my head i figured he prob got the vac hose pinched when installing. I got it smoked checked but could not find a leak
so anyways tried to get dynoed today but was told my car was running to lean and had major detnation like 16:1 so I was not even able to get a base line :bang:
so I was pretty disapointed now I got to get it tuned before it hurts the engine. I'm going to change the fuel filter and do a complete fuel service before I take it up tues.
so got it scheduled for a tune tues hopefully ed at virginia speed can get me hooked up
anybody got any ideas what it should make after the tune or advise
thanks

At least Ed caught it lean before he started doing pulls. Not all shops would have caught that and BAM!!!

Very true. Motors blow on the dyno all the time.
Damn dude that sucks....are you pulling any cel's?? Did you try and take the chip out and run it stock program? Clogged fuel filter? fuel pump acting up? Was the tuners wideband calibrated....did he try a different one? This happened to me once.

You might as well throw a cam in it or get a LS6 intake before you tune it.

well the mail order is suppost to eliminate the rear o2's and the bong's are welded closed

I asked ed if I should put the ls6 intake on before getting tuned but he said it wouldn't make that big of a difference

bout 10rwhp. Not too bad for $300 and a hour or so of work.

boughtitdone may have your problem solved. Your O2's may be bad. They do go bad, its happened to me. Forget about the LS6 airlid, it wont fix your lean condition. Before you do any mods, find out whats causing the lean condition. What are your SES error codes?
I dont see any data on the car; depending on the year, it wont have a "chip".

do a cam and intake swap before you dyno it... mail order tunes SUCK ASS, i had one done to my car but had to send it back twice before it was close, then still had to get a what i like to call "REAL" tune lol... with the mods you have right now you wont make much more power than the stock set up IMO

At this point, it is better to make sure the car is running mechanically safe. Get all the crap fixed before going back, if a SES light is being thrown, you need to get it all sorted. Most likely the PCM is taking over and leaning out the fuel as per the program in the PCM. Id almost have the shop install a stock tune and go from there.

02s were working just fine. Both banks were +30% with no load. As soon as I hit the throttle, it was 14.5:1 and up. About 4 grand, the marbles started running through the motor. At that time, it's best to just lift, and leave it up to the customer to get it tuned.
