Do you think the price of G8s will go up because they were only so many made in 08 and 09??? And IMO the fact that it will live on as a chevy Caprice doesn't matter to me because if it's not Pontiac than it's not worth buying.

Well it's been announced that it's NOT going to be rebadged as a Caprice so no worries there. As for the pricing, I'm going to say they're going to hover around the $18-28k range for a while, maybe less on the higher mileage '08s, but nothing too cheap. Over time I'm not sure if they're going to be a highly sought after car, but I figure them to retain some pretty good value.

Hard to say... the GTO's haven't held there value at all IMO, and the 4th gen f-bodies didn't exactly remain expensive after they dropped them in '02... but on the other hand you still have to pay decent money for the old rear wheel drive Impala SS's (comparing their original MSRP to what you'd pay today for cars that are over a decade old). I'd say from a comparison standpoint the G8 is more like an Impala SS (full size, room, V8 powered, rear wheel drive, 'American' car). There's a limited demand for this kind of car, but it appears to be really loyal as well. Given there isn't anything else really like it and there is only a limited number available... its got a decent chance of holding some value.

I'm planning on using mine as a daily driver for the next 10 years so I'm not too concerned about values. I won't be shocked if the thing has almost resale value though... and I really don't care since I like the car a lot and don't care what others think (i.e. how its valued).

Just my 2 cents...

When the Pontiac signs disappear good luck selling one for decent money. Buy one of these to have fun with and have somethinng unique. Resale value will be pretty bad in a couple years IMO, but probably not much worse than any other GM car/truck.
