Might be making the move to the Portland area in about 6 months due to a job opportunity and was wondering what the street scene looks like up here? I know it wont compare to Houston at all, but hopefully it's not too empty.
Frequent car meets? Clubs? Racing? Any good shops/parts/tuning places around?
I'll be sad if it's as slow as this section is compared to the Texas section . What should I expect if I head up there... besides needing a winter car?

We have a couple local race tracks. Woodburn and Portland International Raceway. Our local group has about 10-12 guys w/ built LS1's and LT's. All really nice guys too. All kinds of car shows and meets throughout the spring/summer and early fall. Lots of really nice places to cruise as well...the beach(s) and out East towards Mt.Hood and Eastern Oregon. As far as good tuners here, there are a couple good ones and shops. Tom Wong Performance is hands down one of the best places to get your car tuned, and he is also a great builder. Def get yourself a Winter vehicle. Good luck!

As mentioned, the greater Portland/Vancouver area is pretty conservative, especially compared to Texas lol... This last year, the Fbody's have seemingly come out of the woodwork around here. Might seem like a very small group compared to the lonestar state, but this is the most activity in this area since I can remember and I've been on the fbody message forum's and track scene since 1999. We'll always welcome another car fanatic if you make it up this way. :)

Hey come on over to the best state there is!! We got lots of cruises. Winks out in troutdale all summer long, there is one in the sandy area. Like Elliot said, we have PIR, and woodburn for racing!! There is plenty of meets with us local guys, wich I wish I could make it to most of them. Everybody is cool as hell here always giving advice or taking it, well atleast in our group.:)

Sounds pretty different... more laid back and personal. Might be nice. Good do see cruises are a common occurrence.
Might be a nice change. The contract starts in February I believe so I should know a bit more in a few months. If so I'd happily join ya'll, just need to get her running heh.
