12 Second Club - Hit 12's in pretty much stock car
TrakJunky

My setup =
01 1SC M6 camaro SS..
granatelli lid
factory slp cat back (my car is an slp car it came with it). ..
koni 4/4's
ground control coilovers
strano sway bars
full interior with spare and jack in the back!
275/40/17 bfg kdw street tires @ 40PSI. yes it was at 40PSI i checked it afterwards! I auto x dont really drag race but it was my clubs shootout so i brought out the autox car to drag. lol..
So i guess i could be considered pretty much stock drivetrain.. i dont think a lid helps that much.
ran 12.989 @ 113 MPH... 2.0 60ft.. my whole time sheet is at home and im at work about to go to hot august nights.. But ill post it up if i need to! Just stoked cause i wanted a 12 before i did any real boltons.. This was done at sacramento raceway.. and if anyone knows its not the best track either..

"So i guess i could be considered pretty much stock drivetrain.. i dont think a lid helps that much."-lid has nothing to do with drivetrain, so id say your drivetrain is 100% stock.

i think the fact that my car is pretty low helped my MPH but i have the time slip to prove it. I was running at 109-110 with no suspension work a couple months before this.. i was amazed at the trap speed myself. I believe i had a few contributing factors for my run..72 ish degrees at sea level is the conditions.. Ill take a pic of the timeslip and put it up.. not to mention my car with me in it weighed 3600 lbs.. theres a scale at the track.. my car is also a 1SC hardtop power delete everything.. but its still full interior and my mods are what i typed in the first post.
And thanks everyone for the compliments.. i was stoked..

I'd like to see the rest of the data - 60', 1/8th ET and mph - that MPH seems way high. An ET calculator estimates 320hp - reasonable, by MPH it estimates 394hp - thats not reasonable. The 1/8 mile stuff will help show what was going on - with a 2.0 60' you should have went faster than 12.9 with trap speeds like that.
What kind of ET/MPH did the car run on any other passes?

With your power you should be at like 92-93 ane et depends on traction. Maybe like 7.5.
With my full weight car that had 374hp i was trapping 91. We are in totally different areas though so that could have something to do with it.

Yea that 7.5 is with a real good 60ft so I say you'll do like 7.8 at 94. Just a random guess LOL.
I don't know the elevation but it's close to sea level. I honestly think I could of trapped 92 with a better launch. I'm lazy out of the hole. You should be pretty fast with your setup

not many people can do 7.5@92 in a 6 speed.. IMO with a 1.6-1.7 short time (what you should be cutting with drag radials or slicks) would net you a 7.7@91-92mph or so..

26mph in the back half is nuts. I see the slip, I'm just not sure how something like that happens - lots of full bolt on cars gain like 22-24mph in the back at best, and most arn't even that fast MPH wise. Must have been one heck of a gust of wind.

Yeah Gomer picked my car up 10hp by tuning it. Mine's "stock-ish" and put down 330 with the stock tune and detonation in the upper revs. He richened it up and I was happy with the results.
I know my car has a high 12 in it, but I'm too afraid to break the rear since it's a dd. On my 13.04 run my 60' was a 2.13, my 1/8th was an 8.55/86.5 and the 1/4 was 13.04/109.4 so I can see his run being legit. That 1/4 mph does look very fast though. Maybe he can back that run up the next time he's at the track.

Next time this car will see a drag strip probably won't be til next year. I'm just going to chalk up my trap speed to aerodynamics. Less air under the car to create drag.
Susequent runs before this I ran a 13.4 @ 110
a 13.0 @ 111 and a tires spinning through second 14.6 @ 110. When I saw it ran 110 with the 14.6 I hot lapped and ran the 12.9.
In took it out when it was stock ride height a few months before and I was trapping 109 mph all stock with no suspension work.

OP- what track did you run at and what day/time was it?
The track was sacramento raceway, and it was about 830-9pm. aug 1st 2009
guess im going to have to find a digital scale to find out for sure what my race weight was.. im interested to find out why my car trapped so high myself.

That track is only 30' above sea level.. You lucky SOB...
The reason why we asked what track it was, was to figure out the DA that day.
Around the time you ran the DA was +826.. That is not to bad.

Anyone that lives around here can attest though that sac raceway prep is balls most of the time. And that night was no different. I may have had everything else working for me that night though. I'm going to have to watch the vid my friend got of it to see how hard I launched. To me it felt like I bogged. But the time tells a different story. My car had seen maybe 100 miles of driving since then. I need to change my oil. Lol!

Many years ago when my car was show room stock and with the oem tires on it that came on it from Chevy it weighed 3440 and ran a 12.96 @ 109.95 ... there have been quite a few cars that have run in the 12s when stock...check this link out...scroll down to post number 6 it is from a ford magazine test on a stock Z28 and the test car did a 12.89.

WOW! That is a crazy trap speed, there has to be something done to that. I have never heard of an LS-1 trapping over 109mph stock.
With a lid and a catback he should be over 109... I did 108.59 with a bone stock Z28.
My car was 3440lbs as well...
60' 2.064
1/8 8.499 @ 87.251
1/4 12.989 @ 113.051
Wow that's really odd... I went 8.6 @ 85mph... your car must be screaming on the back half!!!!

Thats what I'm saying - 12.9 I don't find that unbelivable, but picking up a full 26mph in the back half with a lid only LS1... :gtfo:

Thats a super high mph for being stock.... SS's usually trap at around 106mph
Ive seen them go as high as 109 stock...but yea that trap is super high for basically being a stock car.

Had real good air and temp that day....plus this car has always been a little bit better than the average bear so to speak....it has been a DD it whole life and now has 191,000 + miles on it and uses a half quart of oil between 5,000 miles oil changes .... I bought it to ride ... :drive:... now its heads/cam bolt ons with LS6 intake that makes 452/418 ... its been a good one ... :D
PS I've seen some stock LS1 cars run 110 mph before. The first time I ever took this car down the track it went 107.

I know you've seen some high trap speeds with that good air you all got in Jersey .... I used to run the Summer Nationals @ Englishtown back 30 + years ago and we always hauled azz whenever we went out there.

I have all the info for the previous owner ima track down his number and see if there might be something hiding in the block.. like a small cam.. it sure doesnt sound like it has anything though. unless its like a z06 cam.. But for sure it screams on the back half.. like i said i spun through 2nd alll the way through second the run before and still trapped 110.. insane..
