Lost a turbo end of July called around looking for a replacement asap. Called Modular Turbo he said he could have it drop shipped from Turbonetics. Told him I would pay overnight shipping if I could have it by 8/1. Told that it wasn't likely, promised by 8/7 (friday) I offered to pay air shipping again to make it happen.

Well the turbo did ship but to North Carolina instead of Washington state, it's on a truck once it reaches NC it will turn around by truck and come back sometime around 8/18-8/21. (per fedex)

Well what upsets me is I paid $100 more than the cheapest price because he sounded like a man of his word. He talked about customer service and how other companies promise things and don't follow thru., he was specific when mentioning Forced Induction which I have no dealings with. How they promise you things and don't deliver, etc.

After suggesting the right thing to do would be to have another turbo drop shipped to me from Turbonetics to me in Washington state he went on about how he wasn't going to do that and started backing away from his original agreement and said he made no promises.

I'm not saying you shouldn't buy from him but I'm saying for the extra $100 I didn't get extra customer service, I got extra bullshit and smoke blown up my ass about what a great company he has.

He'll probably come on and debate the details, or talk about how it's a custom turbo, which goes for the majority of turbos since your asking for specific A/R housings, etc, that's fine. Bottom line is what he told me and what's actually happening aren't the same, so instead of stepping up and getting the turbo here he deflected blame and stepped back from his agreement.

Bummer man, sorry to hear about your bad dealings.

I had an incident recently with something much smaller (air-bag). Bought it from Thunder Racing and paid extra for 3-day delivery so I could install it before going to the track. Friday rolled around and no air-bag. Got on the horn with Thunder and they gave me an explanation of what happened and that the air-bag they had in stock when I placed the order didn't have all the hardware to install it. When asked why I wasn't contacted, the salesperson was out sick for a couple days. Still should have gotten a call, but a long story short, they paid for my expedited shipping and I got it the following Tuesday because they admitted a fault in their system. I didn't get my part when I wanted it, but the explanation seemed reasonable to me and they stepped up to the plate and appologized and admitted it. I'll continue to do business with Thunder Racing in the future because of this. It's just too bad all busineses don't operate like that.

I agree people screw up, I would have been pleased if they just drop shipped a new turbo from CA instead of making me wait until it's freighted all the way over to the east coast only to be freighted back.

Plus it just burns me up that I spent an extra $100 thinking I was supporting a business that had integrity and customer service, anyone can reroute a package. I guess profit on one sale is more important than establishing customers or customer word of mouth.

Did you try TTi in Tacoma to see what they could do?

Yes, problem is the turbo is paid for and it's headed to North Carolina. Modular turbos attitude is sorry!

I apoligized to Mike for Turbonetics' shipping error, I then overnighted the turbo to him after I received. It cost me 127.00 to ship it overnight.

Shipping mistakes do occur and I believe that I made it right as best I could.

Turbo was paid for on the 30th of July. Turbo was delivered on the 12th of august. 13 days from payment to delivery.

Turbonetics incorrectly sent the turbo to me instead of him. I called Fedex and tried to get it rerouted but it would have taken longer for it to get to him that way since it was already in NC. I then overnight shipped the turbo to him for no charge of course.

im not taking sides but i know a few years ago i had purchased a turbonetics turbo from a local supplier and it took longer than told due to turbonetics
messing up on the order.I have seen this a few times and i would say its more of a problem with turbonetics than the supplier.the peolpe there seem to not care too much about the customer service same with there tech department

Turbonetics has been getting better but things like this still happen. It could have been alot worse.
