That would be my guess. If they wanted to change their CETA to white, they didn't bother to keep the CETA wheels (as long as it was a real CETA to begin with).

Yea, I've seen a red T/A with the CETA decals before and it looked cool....
but what made me think it was a CETA was the emblem above the "Trans Am" on the doors. Doesn't CETAs have those???

yes that IS a CETA emblem, But you can buy those on the net. I'm not saying its not a real CETA. Just saying it would be easier to do those "MODS" on a white T/A. Plus if its a real CETA surely the owner would have kept the wheels as posted above?Or maybe they are working on getting some(they aren't on every corner) to put on their White T/A?

That's a white ram air with just the decals, badges and halo painted black. If Z15 is not on the option code decal then its not a CE.
Those pics are from the lakefront in New Orleans where a lot of questionably modified cars seem to gather.
And to the OP question, since the 54U color code of Collector Yellow was actually part of the Collector Edition package then repainting a actual CE any other color would not, in my mind, be a CETA as it is delineating from the package contents.

Yeah thats a very good point, but IMO if a special edition vehicle is an original, such as an original CETA, then it will always be an special edition original. On the other hand, i think if you change the things that make the vehicle a special edition, then maybe it not so special like you said... damn its kinda confusing lol

I just had about 14K in damage repaired to my CETA and had a bunch of people ask me if I was going with a different color since they were painting the whole car anyway. I agree with Bandit though, if you change the CETA package too much it's not even recognizable as a CETA anymore. You may as well just mod a stock WS6. I did put a WS9 hood on mine but the only difference is the extra heat extractors. The white bird looks good though:D

I'd keep it the same color.

Obviously wouldn't be original...but I think a blue one with white graphics would be kinda cool. And I don't know the color of blue, but basically the blue used on previous anniv. 'Birds.

Funny you mention this, because just the other day I resolved to tear my CE down and repaint it in Millennium Yellow once I graduate in a couple years. It's had paint work done on three separate occasions (girl T-boned driver side, stupid Camry owner backed into passenger front fender, Chrysler 300 scraped passenger quarter panel in a parking lot), and although the shop that did the work did a commendable job, none of the paint matches each other 100%. That, and since the driver quarter panel replacement, it doesn't align perfectly with the door, nor does the spoiler align perectly with it's respective body line on the quarter. Whatever "collector" value my car has has long since diminished as a result, so I figure I may as well make it truly unique amongst an already rarified crowd. The motor will come out and be replaced with a built, blown LSX and will be repainted in a better shade of yellow (as I said, Millennium Yellow is the plan for now, that may change later, as I hear it's a 3-stage paint and is a pain to match, should the unthinkable happen again.) Of course, it will still retain the collector edition specific decals and badging.
