Chevrolet Camaro 1967-2002 - Need help/suggestions with my battery hold down...

I have a 2001 Camaro SS w/ a red top Optima battery. The stock battery hold down doesn't fit because the part of the battery, that's supposed to get held down, protrudes on my Optima battery so it doesn't fit. I tried a universal battery hold down kit but it doesn't work either. Any suggestions? I need to get my Safety check already! Thanks in advance.

I took the bolt out completely, then put the battery on and reinstalled the bolt/hold down. It's not perfect, but should pass tech.

Yea thanks for the suggestion man I tried doing that but the piece is so fat the bolt I was givin isn't long enough to securely screw in. Just buy a longer one maybe? I need my safety check already! Damn battery lol

oook problem solved

I just cut the damn hold down to size so NOW it frickin fits. FINALLY -_-

Post up a pic. I need to fit mine better as well. :)
