Well everyone, I have put a lot of money into my car and finally got her the way I want. I have had a lot of fun on the street but have yet to hit the track to see if she has a 10 second pass in her. What I am looking for is launching techniques, what RPMS you were at, your tire selection, how much PSI, and basically anything that you think will help me hit my 10.999 or better run. Considering its going to be my first visit to the track with the 402 I am just hoping for a smooth launch, 3 clean shifts, and a respectable TRAP. I'll be working with some Nittos 305 35r18's. Was going to start out at 24psi and work my way down. As soon as I get to the track I'll post up. Thanks in advance for any and all tips/advice that I can get.:D

Wow, I guess once you hit the 10 second club you no longer want to help a tech member out. Thanks for all the advice on launching, etc, etc.

Try searching for a guy named Ranger on here. He has a nice Lauch Technique guide that'll help you Doug. Even Launching moderately you should nail a 10.9 or better at 128-131mph.

IMO With your 3.42 you need a very aggresive launch to lower your 60ft start with 20 -22 psi hold the rpm 4500-5000rpm and slip the hell out of that clutch any lower rpm you wont be able to get anything under 2.0 or 1.9 60ft you already have built rearend so you only need traction and good clutch.

THere is a member here ran 11.0 with 505rwhp Formual with 245-50-16 Nitto with full weight M6 Car too I'll try to find those vids.

With your power I think 10.8@130+mph is very possible.

Good luck Doug and keep us posted.

like venom said you'll need an aggressive launch .....5000 or so and slip the clutch but the 18's are going to hinder you as well as the 3.42's but i would get a 17 in mickey dr for sure which you should have no problem running a 1.6 60 with
the 18's i would run 20-21 psi depending on the track
good luck and keep us posted :)

I appreciate the votes of confidence. I'll definately give your suggestions a try when I go. Working Overtime right now. Also weather has been crappy the last couple of Test n tunes. Hopefully things will get better in the next couple of weeks. Its looking like I am going to have to use a PBL to get the track. (PBL = Personal Business Leave) Work is not granting the use of any vacation time. :( especially one day vac's.

did you get that car to the track yet. Don't worry about your 60, just go out and run it and see what your trap speed is, that will give you a good indication as to what the car will run.

I think you may need some stickier tires. The 60s will be the key, thats your 10sec right there.High launch RPMs and ease the clutch, dont dump it.You could powershift it but you better be right on,every gear.I also found that you need to almost ignore the lights and concentrate on the launch technique first.I promise it will make a HUGE difference,I took nearly 4 tenths off my normal times by improving(smoothing) my 60 foots. PM me if you want specifics, see my post on CF drag racing section for details of our last track night.:burn:

Thanks again. Going to give it a try again on Wednesday 9/30/09 if everything works out. Got a lot of things to catch up on after being out of town for 5 days.
