I looked at the photos on the STS website. The kit looks terribly overcomplicated compared to some of STS's other kits. The exhaust tips are horrible and the diminished ground clearance is going to scrape a lot of speed bumps. I expected better from Squires.

Not over complicated! 70% of the kit went on the new camaro. FYI the tips are not on the car yet that is still the bare pipe. I will keep everyone posted on ground clearence issuses.

sts sells a product that was hardly original when it came out but was consistently discounted as inefficient and problematic. they have put a corporate image on it (to those who don't know no better) and have marketed the same results that everyone knew all along (less efficient, oiling, clearance issues, dirt on filter, and more spool up)

This is funny since you dont know crap about STS! They have relocated almost all their filters. I have a few friends in austin that would love to show you how "less efficiant" there turbos are. Also StS has changed quite a few of there products to there own design. Im glad you know so much about them you must have recently bought one of there kits RIGHT???

my buddy is pushing over 600 to the wheels and running mid 10's in vegas with his LEP built forged LS1 intercooled t67 rearmount and a few other goodies with no lag. just the same as my LEP built rear-mount turbo'ed firehawk... yup, the rear-mount sucks..lol dan's a funny guy.

although STS sells them as a " bolt on kit" more up-grades are necessary for the system to work to it’s full potential, such as a turbo cam, up-graded fuel pump, injectors, stock exhaust manifolds w/heat wrap from front to back, a built motor, intercooler or meth always helps and a custom dyno tune. I think a lot of people buy the kit, bolt it on and expect monster numbers and performance then are sourly disappointed. I think there’s a sticky post that’s titled “ the cost of forced induction “ . and yes, the rear-mount idea was around before Rick Squires put his name on it. Kind of like the Happy Birthday song, someone was smart enough to buy the rights to it and now no restaurants sing it or they would have to pay the person who bought it

like i said in my Pm, i'm not bashing STS, i just think of their shop more as a fabrication shop than a performance shop

Rick usually does pretty good! I will check the tune when I get home to see if I want to push it anymore

I had a kid who was an intern for STS in one of my engineering classes (i teach). He was frustrated because no real attempt was made to properly engineer the kits. He was an upstanding and successful student, with the unique combination of wherewithal as well.

He didn't go back.
