12 Second Club - Could I Get Into The 12's

So when I ran my 2001 Camaro Z28 at the drag strip for the first time I pulled off a
13.52 @ 107.21 mph
60' 2.273 :(
1/8 8.92 at 84.12 mph

wasnt revved at all & didnt do any big burnouts because these are my DD tires. and I was wondering if I got my tires heated up, launched at about 4K would I be able to get into the high 12's...? My mods are in my sig. Thanks.

Maybe!!!... All depends on traction... You should be good for a 12.9 or so with a good 60'... You gotta get those 60's down...

haha yea i know. thats the thing i need to work on. but i feel i will def have traction with Nitto 555R Drag Radials...

Ya, Some DR's will get you into the 12's with no problems and drop at least .4 sec off your 60's....

I had nittos for like 2 weeks and I didn't like them very much. I could burn out in 3rd with them :/

I have eagle F1's now. not cheap but they hook up better for me.. I don't ever bark into second if I warm them up.

107mph will get you 12's easy, its all in the 60'... I ran 12.7 @ 107mph with lid, magnaflow muffler on stock system and nitto555r's. . . But I'm an auto and had a 3000 stall at the time... a 1.8 60' will get you 12's

the way it sits your car will not hit 12s... I ran 13.1 @107 with 2.1 60s street tires of course... That is wierd... my car made 307hp to the rear wheels...... Based on horsepower you should be in the 12s easy.....

with a 1.9 60ft and good air and track prep you should be able to hit a 12.9 one would think

i ran 12.9-13 flat at 85F with a lid, cat-back and bfg DR's at 106-107mph with a 60 ft of 1.95 and 12.8-12.9 at 108mph with 55f air temp. with my street tire, my best time is 13.4 at 106 mph with a 60 ft of 2.4.

i was M6, hardtop and 3.42


if you are able to cut down your 60 ft, i'm prety sure that you will be able to touch the 12's!

wtf? thats weird dude, i had eagle f1's and it took me 5 tries to cut a 1.82 60ft with 20lbs in the tires....i ran the regular nitto 555's and ran a 1.78 with 34 lbs in them first try....400whp and 3k converted would roast the f1's until i let off the gas, i had to pedal the car to keep it from bouncing off the rev limiter...the 555's i can just drop at 3k, the tires spin about 25ft and catch, can spin them any further if i try

107 will not get you into the 12's easy...with an auto probably, with a m6 no...u have to remember that m6's will trap like 5mph faster running the same times, it would be like your auto running 102....not to mention if hes spinning that makes you trap higher.

Does your car come with the LS6 intake or LS1? My 99 WS6 M6 with a SLP lid and P&P TB ran a 13.6@106mph at the very best. This was the first time out too.

wait what...? HAHA you will not be able to do a 3 gear burn out on Nitto 555R Drag Radial tires.... unless your pushing 400+ rwhp. if your stock then you MUST of had the Nitto 555

DAM we ran pretty much the same time.... but I'll be going to the drag strip soon. so I'll keep you guys posted. I believe (have a feeling) if I can hook up & get a good 60' I'll be in the 12's

2001-2002 came with an LS6 Intake stock.. so yea. I got one. :D yea my 13.5 & 107 mph was my first pass also.
