Can anyone recommend a retractable air hose reel system with 50ft of 3/8" rubber hose, preferably under $100? I don't necessarily need commercial quality. I just want to hang it in a central location in my new garage. I see some really expensive ($300+) and some really cheap (under $50) and wonder what the functional difference really is.

I have a Harbor Freight one that's been working OK
for me, I'm sure it was under $100 (if I recall, I had
waited for it to even be on special). Been on the wall
for a year or two, still winds back up and doesn't leak.
That's about all you can ask for.

I already have a nice hose. Know of anywhere I can just pick up the reel?

I think I have seen bare reels in Northern Tool
catalogs.
But you can never have too much hose. Even if
it's more than she can take.

The 'farm stores', such as Orscheln's, Tractor Supply, or others like that, ..., often have a sale price of about $60 on a pretty good unit.
I've had one hanging in my garage for the last couple years & it has been pretty good to me.
FYI, I sell the costly units that are in the mobile & industrial world, & I'd still buy another one like I've got now for home use.
Now, if I were using it in a professional shop or something, I'd look at some of my other product lines.

True, true. Thanks for the personal experience. Not a whole lot of farm supply stores here in S. Florida. Tanning beds and spas? Yes, every block. ;)

oddly enough there were some in Orlando, and I know of one in Daytona beach
IF you get a self retracting one I suggest spending a few $$$ for a better then harbour freight one, after awhile they start to not "lock" and constantly try and retract, its annoying as hell.
