Okay, here goes:

Selling my 1993 Camaro Z28 road race car. The car is a completely “turn-key” operation. Just add gas (and tires!) and go! The wheels included are 17 x 9”, and have been running 275/40/17 tires. This car has run a certified (timed) 1:35.4 at Mosport, in August ’09, and will do so lap after lap (and that was with "me" driving!). Originally built to run in GT Sprints, I have only used the car in SoloSprints this past year, placing 3rd in class (SGT2). However, I’ve now got my sights set on something new.

Specs are as follows:

Drivetrain: Engine is a stock LT1 350 from a ’97 Z28, fitted with a set of Edelbrock “shorty” headers, y-pipe, and side exit exhaust (makes approx. ~300HP). Power is through a Borg-Warner T56, and a 3.23 ratio Auburn “Pro” diff (new in June ‘09). The clutch is a factory style Ram clutch (new in ’08). Shifter is a B&M Ripper, short-throw. Front & rear hubs are outfitted with ARP wheel studs. I upgraded the rad in the car to a dual 1” core aluminum rad. Running temps range from ~180°F - 190°F at Mosport, to the low ~200’s at shorter tracks. Dual electric fans (manually switched, can be run individually) have no problem keeping the temperature at ~195°F even while idling HOT on track (I know this from experience!).

Brakes: Fronts are C4 Corvette, 13” rotors & calipers, fitted with Hawk Blue pads. Very grippy for this car. Rears are stock LT1. I also have a complete set of brand new pads & rotors to go with the car, as well as a fresh set of Blues.

Suspension: Koni DA shocks on all four corners, with Ground Control coil-over adjustable sleeves. Front springs are 650lb Eibachs, rears are 175lb. Sway bars are 35/22mm F/R, hollow, from Sam Strano. Spherical / rod-end bushings in all lower control arms, and rear panhard bar.

Interior: Fully gutted and caged. The cage apparently came from an old GM Players Camaro. Momo Corse racing bucket, with brand new SFI 16.1 rated 5-point harness (good until October, 2011 - still two full season’s worth). Custom made dash, with just the bare essentials. Built-in fire extinguisher with nozzles on the driver and in the engine bay.

Exterior: All factory glass removed; front & rear windows replaced with lightweight Lexan. Factory hood replaced with lightweight fibreglass hood. Rear spoiler replaced with (very effective) aero wing. Front of car has a custom air-dam / splitter, and ducting to the rad. With all of the weight removal, the car weighs in a 3038 lbs, with full fluids. Compare that to over 3500 lbs stock! With "only" ~300 HP, it's a very nice power:weight ratio.

Misc: Built-in 22 gallon Bicknell fuel cell in the trunk. AMB transponder. Power steering cooler.

The racing season may be drawing to a close, but it’s not quite over yet! Buy now, and you can still get out and play, or get a head-start on your winter project! (everybody needs something to tinker with during the long, cold months of winter!! :) ).

Asking: $12,000 obo. 16' tandem axle open trailer also available/negotiable (only with sale of car, not on its own).

Very motivated to sell. Have many extras that I can include as well. Must be seen to be appreciated. You can contact me via PM, or phone - 9 0 5 - 2 4 0 - 1 9 3 5 - for more details.

Thanks for looking!

Pete
