Pontiac GTO 2004-2006 - Can you fit a mountain bike in the back seat of a GTO

I'm weighing pro's and cons of buying a T/A vs. a GTO :engarde:. Obviously the GTO has a much better interior, seats, etc. but the trans am has the looks to back up the power.

One of the random questions i have about a GTO is has anybody tried to fit a mountain bike in the back seat of the GTO with the front wheel off? I know it'll fit easily in a T/A due to the hatchback but not sure about the Goat.

Also if anybody has owned both a TA and GTO, what is your take on the pros and cons of each?

GTO=
Pros: still may have warranty, more refined, more comfortable, handles better, brakes better, better for a DD.
Cons: more expensive to mod, heavy, suspension is pretty fu**** up from the factory (worn out springs, strut rub etc.)

F-Body
Pros: cheaper, cheaper to mod, lighter, better platform for a straight line car.
Cons: more common, getting older, out of warranty.

All my opinion of course.

I don't see a bike fitting back there. I have a hard enough time getting my bike in my Grand Prix unfortunately.

I have owned both....99 TA for 4 years, currently daily driving a GTO

If you want a better built, more comfortable and confident daily driver that still has LS power, get a GTO

If you want to be able to go fast in a straight line for as little $$$ as possible, get a TA

on a side note, I know you can fit a bicycle for a 4 year old in the trunk of a GTO. I have one in mine, b/c my g/f's oldest turns 4 this week.

Yup. I saw a GTO with a couple MTB's on a hitch this weekend. That's the way to go, in my opinion. If you're actually going to ride the MTB how it was intended, you're going to trash the interior of your vehicle by putting it inside (unless you're going to throw towels all over the place).

Won't fit, the seats don't fold forward enough to get jack shit into the back without scratching something. Get one of those trunk racks.

My road bike fits in my back seat with both wheels off. I've got a huge bag that my bike fits in so the interior doesn't get scratched up and greasy, highly recommend getting one.

I have my back seat out and it was still an adventure to get my bike in and out. It fit...but I had to be VERY careful not to scratch the interior when puttin git in or taking it out...I sold the bike though so problem solved!
