what is different between the ls1 and the ls2 other then the fact that the ls1 is a 350 and the ls2 is like a 364? What all can be swaped from an ls1 to an ls2?

as far as I know, which isn't too much on this question.. The LS2 is a drive by wire opposed to the LS1's drive by cable for the throttle body as well as the intake manifolds and the heads are different as well. Other than that I cant think of much..

First off, the LS1 is 346ci, and the LS2 is 364ci. The LS2 got the same 243 heads that the Z06's got, minus the sodium filled valves. The LS2 also got a 90mm drive by wire throttle body, vs the LS1 78MM cable TB. Roughly 50HP/ 50ft lbs torque. A lot of the external parts are interchangable technically. Could probably do a search and find more if you need.

With a 90mm intake/TB and 243 heads your gonna be around the same power as the LS2.... They are pretty close performance wise... 50hp is not gonna make a real seat in pants difference imo.

04 M6 and 05-06 M6 T56 are the same gearing..... A Fbody T56 has different gearing than the GTO's... The GTO's gearing is better than the LS1 Fbody T56's

well i recently blew the tranny in my car after having it 3 months so im guessing who ever had it before me basically raped it. But every where i have talked to said they cant rebuild it for any less than 2200. i have found some ls1 t56's out of junk yards with around 50k miles but they were out of the fbody and i wasnt sure if it'd work and save me money or just be a waste and should either get a new one for the ls2 or have mine rebuilt.

Check out Tick Performance. They have some pretty affordable rebuild packages.
