Advanced Engineering Tech - LS block - machined/honed + Nikasil?

Ok if you have this situation - you have an LS1 or LS2 Aluminium block which had been used and suffered excessive bore wear (maybe being used in a bad stroker setup), so much so that the iron liner could not be rehoned.
With this situation could you get the iron liners in the block machined out and the aluminium cylinder walls honed out (say 4.065") and then have a Nikasil lining applied to the cyclinder walls?
I don't have this problem myself but I do know someone who did, and was wondering if it might likely or at least possible for me to get something like this done to that block so that it could be reused maybe for a new engine or as a backup for my current setup?

Hey Rob,
Its been awhile! I hope things have gone well with your build. Shoot me an email or PM and let me know how things are going.
As far as an answer to your question, I don't believe there would be enough material (aluminium) left for a proper cylinder. I would recommend either starting with a new block or re-sleeving the current block. If you go the re-sleeve route, you can go MUCH larger on the bore and make more power.

this would not work on a ls1 block for sure, because the ls1 block has coolant passage imbetween the sleeves, it is not a siamase bore like a ls2/3/7
