Tools & Fabrication - HELP-Hypertherm VS thermal dynamics plasma

issue, I cannot decied which plasma cutter to purchase.
Anyone here with any words of wisdom?

Well, I have a Powermax 45, and it cuts superbly. I've cut a lot of stuff with it, and am still on the original tip that came with it. I've cut 5/8" with it easily (I'd bet the 30 would do 1/2"). Paint me in the "Hypertherm Fanboy" camp. I think you'd be pleased with it. The 45 cuts great for such a physically small machine, I'm sure the 30 has a similar impact.

And buy a GOOD filter - the Motorguard M-60 comes highly recommended - right before the inlet to the plasma. Water and trash in the line is one of the leading killers of plasma cutter tips. Spend some $$ on filtering your air and you'll have no trouble at all with the cutter. If your air line has ever spit water at you, you MUST get additional filtering.

I have been using TD machines for about 11 years now and had zero issues with them. As with welding machines you should always buy the most power you can afford cause you'll always want more. Power, power, power!!
