User Support & Resources - Change 5th Gen banner?

Maybe this isnt the right section...but anyone else intersted in seeing some 4th Gens in the banner again??

I don't have much say in the matter, but since you can't get an LS1 in a 5th gen Camaro, I agree that the LS1Tech banner could use a refresh.

I think there was a thread about it a while back and they said it was gonna stay, IMO there should be a car of the month and who ever wins should have their car as the banner for the month.

Yea, COTM sounds like a good idea I might enter if they had some incentive, espc caus the 5th gens not having LS1s is aother reason :)

Honest reason? I created that graphic to let our members and GM know that this site is still going to be the #1 place to cover the 2010+ Camaro when it comes to racing and modifying them. A few other 5th gen sites sprung up shortly after the photos were released, but we know that our members will still be the diehard modifying/racing types to get their hands on these cars. Hence the front-mount intercooler I put on the graphic, that is your first intercooled 5th gen. See, I've already begun modifying mine and I haven't even bought it yet :devil:

Also, remember that LS1TECH was the first place in the world to show the Concept Camaro photos, even though that caused a media shit-storm. We had offers from all of the big name auto magazines to 'buy' those leaked photos, and turned them all down.

Does it really matter what the banner is? I see it once when I sign on and that's it. Make a big enough donation and IB may consider changing it to what you want.

i see it alot lol. just a little change would be nice. maybe vote like the top 5 cars on the site and combine them into the banner somehow.or the top 3 with the 5th gen. idk just throwin out some ideas.

It's like Carb Day at the Indianapolis 500. When was the last time you saw a carbed Indy Car racing in the series? The name has sentimental and historic value, so it stays. I look at this site the same way.

If you go on Performance Trucks you dont see a v6 toyota and if you go to Modern Hemi you dont see 60-70 hemi car. All I'm saying is if you call the site ls1tech have an ls1 picture even if its a vette. It doesnt make since to have a car that doesnt have an ls1. If they want the site to evolve with the new cars that are out I think they should change the name to lsxtech.

You're all not getting it! "LS1tech" is a brand & well-established. Changing the name would just hurt the overall growth of the site. This goes against us car guys who modify, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

We do understand the name is established but having a car without an ls1 makes no sense. If they want people to know this is also a site for the new camaro then at least put a picture with a 4th gen next to the 5th. I'm not saying change the domain name just change to an X at the top of the page. Also if you for search ls1tech or lsxtech it's still the first page listed on the search engine.

imo it should have all the generatons of camaros and ta's.....have the 5th gen in the middle with the camaros on the left and ta's on the right in decending order

I am open to a new header image, and if there is anyone out there that thinks they are pretty awesome with photoshop you are welcome to send me your ideas, if we end up using it I will send you some LS1tech swag as thanks.

Include a 5th Gen in the image (although that doesn't have to be the only vehicle in the header)
Work with the 3 different color schemes we have.
Use the LS1tech logo (although if you come up with a new awesome logo, thats cool too)
Not use any proprietary GM image.

I personally like the current header, but am always open to other options :)

I like the COTM idea, but if the one up there now stays it's not going to ruin my day. Like someone else said the only time I see it is when I first come to the homepage.

I dont really like the cartoon 5th gen either. I would rather have a pic of a real 5th gen but I'm in for the 4th gen

If it were to be changed, a banner with a 5th gen, 4th gen, and C5 and C6 vettes, and a GTO, and... crap too many lsx vehicles out there to stuff in a banner :lol:

Adrian, where can one get the format for the banner? i suck something awful with computers but ill give it a whirl for the swag lol
