ok well im having a turbo kit built for one of my cars . full tubular with a pt106

for mock up i have a bare block ls1 with a set of stock heads .
plans for the motor are a LSX 451ci and a set of etp 245cc 6bolt heads and sheetmetal manifold.

the question is are the dimensions the same with the ls1 and the lsx >? will a turbo kit that is mocked up on the ls1 fit the 451 with the etp heads ?

the plan was to do all the turbo mock up stuff first and then wait for the engine to be built ..

anyone care to help me out .. i heard that the heads might have a lil taller deck height . but how much taller ? as long as i got a inch of clearance im sure everything will be fine and fit right .. just making sure . and aslo will motor mounts made for the ls1 fit the lsx ? thanks sorry for so many questions !

yes, you can use stock heads to mock up, I would recommend using the right parts to mock it up though, at least the heads, this will give reassurance that the pipes clear the outer bolt bosses. If you need mock up heads, we can supply them.

the LSx block and the LS1 do have the same dimensions, but I'm not sure about the heads. Since Cary sells the heads you can talk his word as gospel.

all the bolt holes and general location is the same with the stock ls1 head and the etp heads right ? just a lil taller ? im sure it would be fine as long as there isnt a crazy amount of diferrence in the two units .

by the way how much does a set of you mock up heads cost ? my fab guy already knws my plans for the motor so i dnt think it would be hard to make the adjustments .

any more info ??

thanks guys !

With a 106mm turbo you might consider a motorplate.

Motor plates help keep the motor from rocking or twisting with high power motors.

so you would still run the motor mounts rights ? who makes them for the lsx ? how much do they run and they are all cut to fit right ?

nope...you have plates on the front of the motor and a midplate between the motor and transmission...you delete motor mounts. Makes it nice for exhaust clearance and whatnot.

madman and burkhart both had plate options...
