As the title suggest I bad experience with Texas Speed and Performance. I will try to be brief. But as an LS1Tech member I fill compelled to give my story. As many of you know Texas Speed and Performance posted test result of the new F.A.S.T. LSX 102mm LS3 Composite Intake Manifold vs. a ported LS3 intake on Friday September 25,2009. They also listed their price of $799.00 on that same post. Texas Speed and Performance also listed this same price on their website. Will, I call them today, Monday September28, 2009 at 9:30 am(Before they change the price on their website) and talked to one of their employees about the intake and the price of $799.00(I believe this employee’s name was John he said he was the acting manager). This employee stated that this was the correct price $799.00 and because I live in Texas the sales tax would be $67.95 bringing my total to$866.95. I then explain to this employee that I needed to call my wife to let her know I was going to make this transaction. The employee said, “No problem just call us back your price will be $866.95”. I call Texas Speed and Performance back a few hours later and they told me that they had made a mistake on the price, the new price was $856.99.I would not have had a problem with the new price if (1) the change on the website was prior to my call. (2) the price change on the post was prior to my call and (3) an employee had not given me a quote with sales tax and told me the price would be $866.95 when I call them back. I asked this employee if I could speak to the owner he said there were two owners and that I would not be allowed to speak to either of them. I THINK HONESTY AND INTEGRITY GO A LONG WAY IN BUSINESS. THANKS texas speed and performance FOR NOT HAVING EITHER.

I think the timing is what messed up this transaction, the price was lower but received many vendor complaints saying it was too low. Jason raised it back up due to the complaints, and you called back after that point which the sales guys requoted the new price.
I sent you a PM but may not have been clear enough about it. Jason did say after work that you should have been given the original price since that was what you were quoted and that he wanted to give you a call himself.
Basically the the first price you received, original price + tax + agreed shipping (if any?)
Although now that this post is here, when they see it in the morning, things may change...and then I'm going to guess that that price is no longer honored with such a post.

You put this same thread in three different sections and it's still not in the right one, good job.

I can understand why the OP may have been upset. But this is not the best way to deal with it.
He posted it in three different sections? Wow.

I'm sorry I was "acting" manager. You weren't allowed to talk to an owner because they were not in when you called back. (Not that it would have changed anything.) Either way, if you had placed the order the first time you called or given me a card number the first time when you called, I would have honored the price. I didn't even have your name... However, between the time you originally called and called back, the price did go up. All advertised pricing was changed as well. At that point, its just like you are calling in for the first time to place an order.
I was told by Jason that I could honor that price for you this one time. However, we are not going to be black-mailed into doing anything. The post is already here. It won't do any good at this point to GIVE any parts away. I know you say it isn't about the money but that is EXACTLY what this post is about. I'm sorry you feel you were somehow wronged on an order that was NEVER placed. Businesses have the right to change pricing at any time. This is stated on our policies page on our website. Just as you have the right to purchase from whoever you choose. In this case I guess we will just have to agree to disagree.

Dear Jason (part owner of Texas Speed & Performance) and Jon (Acting Manager of Texas Speed& Performance). I see that you have responded to my post. Thank you very much. You gentlemen have shown the LS1tech community just what I thought you would. Intend of trying to make things right you have taken a defensive posture. Which most guilty parties do. In my opinion this is yet another showing of the character of Texas Speed & Performance. I have read several negative posts about Texas Speed & Performance but never thought twice about it until it happened to me. I believe that a man’s (or business’s) word is his (or it’s) bond. I also believe that in business honesty and integrity are paramount. And if I can reiterate Jason (part owner of Texas Speed & Performance) and Jon (Acting Manager of Texas Speed& Performance) it’s not about the money. It’s about an LS1tech sponsor/vender being responsible for it’s actions. I'm sorry I was "acting" manager. You weren't allowed to talk to an owner because they were not in when you called back. (Not that it would have changed anything.) Either way, if you had placed the order the first time you called or given me a card number the first time when you called, I would have honored the price. I would say "Bobber" is taking this entirely too far. If you called in and were quoted a certain price and then called back later and recieved a different price, then why is there any reason they should honor a previous quote that has no deposit/order taken etc?? If the price changed, the price changed. If you dont like the price order it from somewhere else but don't bash a company for changing their price. There is little to no profit in most performance parts and if a company changes there price then that is their choice.
"You read a few bad posts about TSP?" Im sorry but do you realize they had 500-1000 sales for every one negative thing you read. You dont see the hundreds of positive sales , only the negative stuff. They did not do you wrong, they did not tell you one price, take your credit card and then overcharge you. You didnt buy it when you were given one price, you chose to hang up the phone and not take the price. When you called back it changed.
They arent responsible for a purchase you DIDNT make.

Well I see the speed shops are sticking together. Way to go CalspeedPerformance. By the way can you read??? I stated in my post that the "Acting" manager told me that when I called back the price would still be the same!!!!Reading is fundamental but comprehension is not for everyone!!!! I really want you working on my car...NOT I would say "Bobber" is taking this entirely too far. If you called in and were quoted a certain price and then called back later and recieved a different price, then why is there any reason they should honor a previous quote that has no deposit/order taken etc??
