For max power, i would use a solid roller, but with that compression, might as well go hydraulic.

If you want to tell a cam company what you have and what you are doing with the engine, a custom grind will usually net the best power.

A off the shelf is just quicker to get ahold of.

i can up the compression. it has 76cc heads at the moment. what will 64cc heads raise the compression to?

Probably about the 10 to 1 area, the engine will like that allot better and respond more aggressively with a nice cam.

Excellent, give Howards cams a call or Comp cams. Howards is a bit cheaper but very good.

.

Track only?? you can't beat a roller and as much compression as possible for building power.
I'm using my 1st Howards cam, runs great so far.

definitely go solid roller, just make sure you have the budget for good springs, rockers, pushrods, etc and tell who ever does the cam what parts you are running so the parts live.

How about the intake? I know its only rated to 5500rpm. should i get a vic. or a vic jr.?

What push rods should i go with?

RPM Air Gap is advertized as 1500-6500rpm. In a small cam, 355, with AFR 195's, it's probably the best choice. Doing a Vic Jr. will get you more hood clearance, and more power past 5000rpm but it will lose TQ down low. Nitrous makes GOBS of torque down low so if you aren't worried about power off of the hose, i'd switch to a Vic Jr but if you want to drive it and have good bottom end power, keep the Air Gap. I'd try the Air Gap if I already owned it!

Lloyd Elliot above can set you up with a fantastic solid roller for the street. He uses the best parts avaliable and is FAST.
