I'm in the middle of my resto and have the ls2 in my 68 camaro. Ls2 was out of a gto, i replaced the oil pan with one from autokraft (awesome pan!) but doing some work under the car i noticed i don't have a cover infront of my flywheel since that was part of the gto oil pan. Will i be ok if i leave it exposed?

I agree you should be ok, cover is just extra insurance in case road debris comes in contact with your clutch

Just saying, I ran a 383 without one and chipped it. I think it was from gravel. But, I was hard as hell on that car and went everywhere.

I just installed a moroso pan and fabbed a .060 aluminum piece to cover that up and I think it is important to keep all of that crud out of the clutch and flywheel area.
One thing I have noticed that i don't like is with my t-56 the two lower 10mm bolts on the bell housing are not being used because this oil pan doesn't have the solid back with the gussets like the gto pan. Anyone think ths is an issue?

I installed a Richmond 6 speed on a LS motor. There are 2 plastic pieces (02 Fbody) that bolt to the block on either side of the pan that cover the flywheel. I think they were only about $20 from the dealer.

I found one on ebay that fits T56 LT1 Z28 Trans Am, you think that will work on my set up?
