Dyno & Bench Racing Forum - Does this kid even stand a chance??

Theres a local kid, everyone who knows both of us says his Mustang GT is scary fast (minus the ones that have sat in my passenger seat), and word is he has been running his mouth sayin my Camaro aint runnin shit. I'm not sure of his exact specs, it's a 94-98 model, not sure if it's a 5.0 or 4.6, but i do know it's a 5 speed, stock motor(stock heads/cam), and has 3.73 gears. I figure aside from that he's probably got full exhaust and some sort of CAI kit. My question is, (and i'm sure the answer will be as expected) Does this kid stand even half a chance against me, or am i going to walk him to the point where he cries himself to sleep that night? My only concern is that he's runnin about 200 to the wheels(if that) but decides to pull a shot of spray out of his ass at the last minute.

AFR 165s = baby heads IMO

AFR 225s = big heads IMO

Oh and this was with UNcut stock pistons. Not tooting my own horn but just saying, its all in the combination.

Its not that it took that to beat them...it took that to beat them that bad. ;)

And the stock valve relieves in the pistons limit the size of the cam alot so there was still alot of power that was left sitting on the table because of that.

And now I run TFS heads myself. :D

stopsign..how ya like that MGW shifter?...just got one installed on my LT but haven't banged gears in it yet..feels good for normal driving so far

You wont ever see me buy another brand shifter, I'll put it that way. And I've had them all. Hurst, Pro5.0, BBK, and Steeda Triax (JUNK!). The MGW is in a league of its own.

Man I haven't been out to any of the spots in probably 2 or 3 years. Used to be into it pretty thick in its glory days but then the stupid kids on the crotch rockets and ricers came out doing wheelies and burnouts through the parking lot so we would always get ran off. I was thinking about making an appearance tonight maybe. I'm not sure where they meet anymore though. Yes sir. My g/f lives in Spartanburg. Drives a white Mach 1 with a 03 Cobra front bumper. Right now she is sporting my black Cobra wheels too. Dunno if you have seen her driving around. If so don't race her, I don't need her getting a ticket. lol

We do the meets at Quaker Steak in Greenville now right next to Harley Davidson, when you take a left across from the red robin gas station on harrison bridge road. Everyone started moving from Circuit City when they went outta business, kinda sad, that was a good spot, but Quaker Steak is good too. And awesome food if you get hungry.

But i went up there tonight after i got off work and everyone was gone. But i go up there every sunday night with a few buddies, you can't miss our group haha (my bright red Z28, a white saturn with yellow and black accents on chrome rims(that thing is actually pretty nice), a white honda accord with black rims(has a shot of spray, still couldnt beat me haha), a white acura integra with a black hood that has a scoop for the CAI lol, a black pt cruiser lowered on black rims with green neons, and a red ford ranger) haha yea we got a strange group.

I usually always go to Atlanta Dragway but I'm dying to take a car down the new Zmax track! Let me know when you want to go. I should have my new cam in this coming week so by the end of October I'm hoping to have her tuned. But I will go anytime, I love watching too and helping people out with their driving if they need it. Also love learning stuff myself. :chug:

lol i feel really bad now, i was talkin to a buddy of the guy and he confirmed it's a 95 with a 5.0 with about 140k miles and has been dogged to hell. Word is it's on its last leg. Tomorrow is the race and i'm gettin a vid.

this reminds me of the time this 16 year old with a 89 silverado with 4.10s and his big bad "turbo 350 trans" was gonna destroy my car for 100 bucks. i just told him to go home. then he wanted to race for 200. i could have took his money but i didnt.

I shove 16psi down the throat of my little H/C/I 302 with stock felpro gaskets and never had a problem.

you'd be surprised what will hold up sometimes--- i ran a stock 400sbc bottom except speed pro forged pistons @ 500 hp + 125 shot for 3 seasons.. only thing that happened is i ended up blowing a head gasket. was the sweetest engine powerband wise i ever had.
