This was my first time to the dyno and I was expecting a little more hp. I'd like some feedback on the results.

2001 Vette LS1 with '98 fbody PCM.

Mods-
Patriot Performance Stage II heads
Comp Cam 224/226 .569/.571 114lsa
Patriot mid length 1 3/4 primary headers
Stock 2000 fbody Tremec 6 speed
Ford 8.8 rear with 373 gears
GTO snorkel tube with Spectra filter (see pic)

I think Spectacle Solutions did a great job with the tuning and they are great folks to work with. They added about 12 hp to the stock tune. They suggested I change out the snorkel tube for a smooth tube and get a better filter. I plan on doing this.

I agree with them on the air intake. That is probably costing you some horsepower. What does the rest of the exhaust system look like?

3" collector to 3" Pypes bolt on kit with xpipe all the way out the back with Pypes street pro mufflers.

thats a dream setup. do you mind posting more pics of the car? as far as intakes go, with all that head room why not go a super vic?

im thinking between the mid lengths, the intake, and the rear, you seem pretty close. the intake may be worth 10hp, LTs might be 5ish, and the rar is kind of like how a 9 inch sucks up power so i could see this being somewhat close. i think something might still be a miss though. ill let the experts really help ya though.

Nice car. :thumb: I don't see anything wrong with the exhaust. Could be a stingy dyno. Like was said above you will gain some with a better air intake system.

Beautiful car.

What wheels are on it, can't see in the pics. Wondering if they might be heavy. Also what clutch/flywheel - my heavy LS7/LS2 eats some HP.

I'll add a few pics. Prolly can't afford the super vic.

massls1guy - The wheels are 17" aluminum Billet Specialties Vintec series. The Clutch is a stock LS6 and the flywheel is a 2000 fbody stock one.

everyone - Thanks for the kudos.

Yeah, definitely need more pics. Ever since watching two lane blacktop I've needed a '55. The AR 200s wheels looked fantastic on that car!

Here's a better interior picture and a picture with my friend Shawn's car. I need to lower mine a bit more in the front.

Maybe by adding a U/D pulley a LS6 intake and LT headers you could gain 25rwhp to put you at 390 which is about perfect for that combo so I'd say your on par. You'd be amazed though by what a LS6 intake and a P/P TB could you along with a U/D pulley you'd get 385 out of your set-up.

I may have misunderstood a couple of folks but I thought they said my '01 vette ls1 intake was the same as a LS6. Is that correct??

Also, would the longtubes help much since my 3" collectors dump directly into 3" pipe all the way back? I'm sure there are better long tube headers out there but I'm on a limited retirie budget.

I'll also consider changing to an u/d pulley this winter when I add heat and air to the car.

Thanks everyone for the compliments.

Yes, if your engine is from a 2001 F-Body or Corvette, you have the LS6 intake manifold.

Longtubes will help, but to get a quality set like Kooks or ARH, im not sure the gains you would see would justify the money spent.

Also, we have done back to back dynoes on the underdrive pulleys and saw a 6 or 7 rwhp gain. (cant remember exactly but it was between 5 and 10 horse)

so they do make power.

Ok Jeff, cleared that up you do have the LS6 intake (duh me) some reason I thought you had a 2000 LS1 motor with the LS1 intake. You would probably see a 5rwhp gain peak with longtubes but more so under the curve I'd think. There was a dyno test done a while back by a sponsor showing the differences between 1 5/8 shorties vs. 1 3/4 longtubes and 1 3/4 shorties vs. 1 7/8's LTs and the gains were pretty nice in the midrange. Jeff you think that by putting a U/D pulley on this car and a 85mm T/B he'd see at least 15rwhp?

possibly. like I said, I know from dyno testing the pulley is worth 7 or so. I think a TB could be worth another 7 or 8 so yeah.....it could happen.
