10 Second Club - Cam only LS6 M6 in the 10's

Today i went out to US41 in I.N. I went there today to try and run a 10sec run.
And i met my goal of this year today.


And a big Thanx to Larry At Speed Inc For all the help on getting this car in the 10.xx's

fast 90/90 setup

tick perf stage 2 M6 tex 0z700 clutch
2 step set at 6400rpm
3.5 moly drive shaft
Fab nine rear end with steel spool and 4.56 gears
strange shocks front and rear S/A Front set to 3 rears set to 6
28x10.5x15s M/T slicks

Had some good air today to waiting to see what the air was when i made my pass @ 18:15:30 Oh and the car has more left in it the 60 was weak and i think i can get more out of it but i will see.

and the ls6 block makes no differences compared to the ls1 block :sarcasm:

especially spinning the motor to the rpm you probbably do.

I can relate to you there. It was my goal for over 7 years now, and I too just recently achieved it. Well I'm amazed at the combo and how well it runs. Looks like I have my work cut out for me, if I plan on getting into the 9's now- lol.

I am From up north IL but i go to us41 for SCC prep is okay but i go to get down with some other cars for money but they are scared of my cam only ls6 car

Its a LS6 long block so its a cam only ls6 bolt on's dont count :cheers: sorry in but yes its a cam only LS6 I am not looking to kill the times on the list i just wanted a 10.x pass with my setup and i did. So call it what you want i call it a fast car for the weight it is and the setup. And thanx i read you post as well nice work bro.

Trans is only a tick shift stage2 With A tex 0Z700 z grip clutch with close to 200 passes on it and 20k in miles.

Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong and not to sound rude but I personally haven't ever seen somebody do a cam swap on pretty much any engine with out the appropriate supporters as the OP has??? To the OP that setup is really haulin should only be around 150-200 shot away from a 9 sec slip! best of luck in the future.

The only appropriate supporters would be changing the valvetrain to handle the cam. The car would run fine with stock exhaust and intake. Would the car benfit from swapping those parts out? Absolutely. But that still doesn't change the fact that it is not "cam-only".

Can't wait to get my "cam-only" GTO down the track next spring. Wish it would transfer like you F-body guys, but not with this IRS. I'm hoping for mid 11's carrying 300lbs more than you.

(AFR heads, ported fast 92, NW 92mm tb, 243/247 cam, headers, 9" rear end, diamond pistons, eagle rods, arp main studs, arp head studs, centerforce dfx clutch, fidanza aluminum flywheel, qa1's at 4 corners, contorl arms, panhard, pro 5.0 shifter, slp air lid, etc lol).
