12s with tune, high 13s stock. I think the SHO could handle an LS4. But for that price tag, I'd get a G8 GT/GXP.
I've seen a few they're definitely nice, but the 17/25 fuel eco isn't that great, good marketing on Ford's part.
The 3 I've seen were driven by older people, though. Twin turbocharge, even a single, a LS4 and that little 3.5L can't keep up. I'm waffling back and forth between a RWD fun car or turbo GXP... It'll be late next year or early 2011 before I do either though... :(

If you race one you better be able to launch well because we can't catch them on top end stock.
I want to race one bad, with what i have it should be close.

I'd be worried. As mentioned high 13's stock and around a 5.2 0-60. As far as seeing old people driving them, aside from on the forums I've only really ever saw old people driving LS4 cars either haha. The SHO is definitely a nice car and they have alot of great features typically only found on luxury cars. They are pretty pricey though and if I wanted something to throw around and really use the performance of it I'd definitely pick a G8 GXP instead. But the SHO will be great as a DD that will turn some heads at the track. But the GXP will be a much better handling and overall performance car with it being RWD and whatnot. The SHO weighs over 4000lbs and doesn't have great brakes and the AWD is a front biased system which isn't really performance oriented. Still very nice cars.

We'll be looking at their taillights without some mods on our end..

lets just hope they have a weak point and can't take much more power adders lol

The Ecoboost is a pretty creditable factory effort. From a modding perspective the problem is that Ford used two GT15 series turbo's. I've taken a look at the compressor maps, and there just isn't room to increase airflow by very much with those turbo's.
Any serious HP increases will most likely mean upgrading to a pair of turbo's that can flow more air - probably at least a pair of GT2860's. Going to cost a couple of thousand...
In another couple of years when the GXP is due for replacement, maybe Ford will offer this engine in a car I'd actually buy.
Cheers

Being a former and current SHO lover I'm waiting for that setup to go into a Fusion with a true 6-speed manual and three pedals.

That does sound like a good setup on the SHO. However, I'm partial to GM. Hopefully Chevrolet gets their act together and gets settled on the redesigned Impala SS/Caprice that's rumored. Supposedly supposed to be based on the G8 with RWD and optional manual. That's a sedan I'd pay 30 to 40k for. But that's all hearsay. Also, not sure how throaty the exhaust with the V6 on that SHO would sound, even with aftermarket. But I'm no expert by any means. I'd be willing to test drive a SHO though.

The Caprice is police issue only... Based on the Statesman, iirc, a little bigger than the Commodore/G8. I don't see GM redeeming soon... :(

Ford has a advertisment going around of the taurus racing a a6 v8 and they got a 6.2 in the 0-60 and 14.77 witch is good but not as good as every body is thinking and that was ford doing the test. I garentee they used the best time they got that day. Just my imput

They also had a horrible time in the A6, 15.3. They do that because most people don't understand what a quarter mile time means, all they see is "Oo, it's faster than an Audi."
That SHO is about a second slow.
C&D got 13.7 @ 103.

When any company "races" their car and gives feedback it's never the same way as a real racer does it.
If you've watched the video that ford put out, neither car was launched and they were on a concrete road not a track.
Also only reason they compared it to the A6 is cause of the price point comparison.
Acceleration and Power
The A6 3.2 features a 3.1-liter V6 making 255 horsepower. 4.2 models have a 4.2-liter V8 that puts out 350 hp. Reviewers, however, say the sweet spot is inbetween the two -- an available 3.0-liter V6 with a supercharger makes 300 horsepower, but is nearly as quick as the V8. The V6 is an adequate choice for most buyers but doesn't place the car near the top of its class. The V8 is much stronger. The 3.2 front-wheel-drive sedan uses a continuously variable transmission without true gears, while all other models use a six-speed automatic transmission.
A6 is actually rated at 15 hp less than the SHO.
