LS4 Front-Drives 2005-2009 - muffler thoughts

muffler question. . i own a 06 GXP. . could i put this muffler http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MPE-10416/ in place of the resinator then get a custom 2.5" exhuast then get the magniflow tips? would the muffler fit? do you think it would have alot of drone? . . . . i think it would be maybe cheaper than the catback that magniflow makes?.

looking at tip options to.. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PYE-EVT86/?image=large . how do you think these would look. or should i stick with a more rounded look?

Just skip on the res, you'll love it.

As for the tips, I personally don't think flat would look good in the big rounded area. I'd been looking for big ovals, shaped like the 97-03 tips, that would fill the void in, but I just put my Magnaflows back on.

yeah i was thinking about putting that round magniflow muffler where the resonator is and only using that muffler so i dont have to buy two mufflers.

There is/was an Impala on here that's just running a resonator. It should fit, when I find my tape measure I'll let you know for sure.

im running mine with just the magnaflow resonator and there piping from the catback with no mufflers. i posted a vid a couple weeks ago. its bassy but not bad.
