i am just tryin to gain a little knowledge with this since my tires should last me a few more summers since i have winter tires now.

#1. since it seems to be a reaccuring them that the fronts go before the rears is there goin to be an issue with running different brand tires up front and back? when my potenza's go i am either going to replace them with one of these 2.

anyone hear anything about either one of these?

#2. it kinda goes back to number 1. if i was to get one of the ones above and want to match the fronts and rears would it be alright to run a 225/45/18 on the rears since they dont offer a 225/55/18? any difference in ride or performance with the 225/45 vs. the 225/55? thanks fellas.

If your OEM size is 225/55 for the rear, I would not go to a 225/45.

You'd be dropping about an inch in sidewall height, I'd go with a 235/50 to get closer to the OE overall height.

i guess the NT555 is better then the INVO but is a little louder which wont bother me much since my exhaust is pretty loud itself.

so would this be a better combo since it would be the same tires front and back and the rears would be damn close to stock?

That's what I would go for. The car would look damn funny with a shorter tire in the rear!

With that set up you'd be pretty much equal height tires.

yeah i inserted my head in my ass when i was doing my first round of research.....from what ive seen on review the Falken's have been getting better reviews when compared to the NT555? anybody have any input as to whether it matters if the front and rears are the same brand?

I’ve had different brand on front for over a month. It rides a lot better than stock. The only issue is looks, but from 50ft away nobody can tell.

this is what tire rack had to say about having different tires up front and back

Thank you for your inquiry.

Yes mis-matching the tires could cause the vehicle to handle differently and/or unpredictably.

All vehicles have a tendency to understeer (push) in hard driving or an evasive maneuver and by having different amounts of grip you effect this tendency.

Thanks.

Yes it definitely handles differently, much more predictable, smoother, quieter.

or unpredictably-
Pause not.

That’s why I put good tires up front. I had the back tire squalling in a corner and the fronts where begging for more.

thoughts?
Just do it.
