My buddy has an 04 Z06 and he has already rebuilt his T56 once after he broke the main shaft. He wants to know who makes the best built T56.. thanks in advance

does he drag race it or road race it or just crazy ass street racing? :usa:

if he has not had any professional training he can break any transmission built by the best shops in the world! :nod:

he does some crazy ass drag/street racing. he doesn't need professional training, the transmission can't keep up with him lol. tell me more about the tr6060, i'm a noob to 6-speeds...

How did he break it?
in launch or? what are his mods? what kind of tires?

He's probably got drag radials on the back of it. They are hard on Vette T56 units. We see a lot of busted mainshafts and tailhousings from Vettes with DRs on the back of them.

Well when the transmission broke it was on street tires and he was rolling and did a 2nd gear clutch dump.. It was rebuilt using a hardened mainshaft and he also upgraded to a DTE differential and textralia clutch. His mods are vara ram CAI, longtubes, no cats, and a dyno tune. Recently the car would get harder to put into gear which is probably cuz he needs a new master and slave cylinder. He would still race ocassionally and now 2nd and 4th grind badly when putting it into gear, but 3rd won't even engage.

Called the Magnum. Newer improved version wider gears, larger output shaft, etc...

oh i forgot he went with 3.90 gears and he didn't want to change his ratios. best time so far has been 11.5x @ 121mph
