12 Second Club - High 12's possible with 2.73's?

I have an 02 z its got all the free mods done, ported and polished tb, mac catback and in a few weeks will have bbk lt's and offroad y however it wont be tuned for a while as I have other mods in mind. Car has 100k on it but was lady driven all its life and runs like new tires are new and hook pretty decent on the street. With the above mods, a good hook, and the stock 2.73's does anyone think high 12's are a good shot. Its at sea level in florida btw.

I went from running 13.4s at 104 with a 2.0 60 stock to snagging a string of 12.9s at 106 with nothing but my Pacesetters and a 1.9 60ft. It's possible and done routinely around here. Really, just get a decent 60ft and you should be able to dip into the 12s. Mine's untuned and has run pig rich since I stuck headers on it.

yes, you can def. run in the 12's with 2.73s w/o a tune. :)

Haha good to hear. How is ur car running with no tune? Does it run ok or is it noticeable it could be running smoother?

12's w/o gears or a converter .Wow . Let me know how you do at that track . I have a similar set up . 98 Z ,lid ,K&N ,free mods ( ram air made a big difference ),M/Flow cat back. Long ass 2:73 gears too. Waiting on my 3:73 and D/R's to get here .:D Best of luck :thumb:

I think its very possible. Im in the "trying for 12's" boat! lol I ran the time in my sig with bald 245's and 2.73's. I think with tires I could be 12's.....

It runs smooth, just very very rich. Judging by my trap, I think it's got more left in it with a tune, but I can't justify spending the money to dynotune my stock engine.

with 4l60e's and stock gears?
the t56s may trap higher stock than 106, but not very often will a bone stock a4 run higher than 106.

Not bone stock car, but, bone stock tranny. No shift kit, stall etc... Wait, it has a huge tranny cooler? LOL
