**Numbers are with the converter Unlocked**

Car is an A4 with a Performabuilt Lvl 1 and Billet Stall.

SpeedInc Iron 408 Shortblock
Patriot LS6 227cc Heads
Comp Cams 236/240 .571/.571(I think) 113LSA
LS6 Intake
Fast 36 Lb/Hr Injectors
Double Roller Adjustable Timing Set
LS6 Valley Cover
!A/C !EGR !AIR

Car was dynoed on a Mustang Dyno, but I was told that it was tuned pretty much to be the same as a DynoJet.

Car made 375rwhp/431rwtq the converter wouldnt stay locked on the dyno.

Kinda disappointed but what do you guys think?

I would say the ls6 intake, exhaust and tiny lift numbers on your cam are killing your power. 375 is pretty lousy for your combo even with an unlocked converter.

Well the converter was built to be a 3400 stall on the stock engine and now it's super loose.. I spoke with the guys over at yank and was told that the power is blowing through the converter. A new converter should help a lot.

The tuner said now to look at the numbers and if I threes a set of tires on the car it woul go high 10's at like 120 or so so I gotta get to the track and see..

Just curious what you guys think.

I'd fork over the coin for a Circle D Billet Pro series. WOT lockup capable, custom built to your needs, you won't ever hurt it.

thats a pretty small cam for a 408 i would change the heads and intake before you swap a new cam in it if you were looking for numbers tq is way up compared to the hp

Cam is not too small, your heads are. So is your intake manifold. Those heads don't make big power even on stock LS1s.

Not even worth posting those #'s as I said. Post the graph so everyone can see what I mean? The converter/tranny just lets go near peak torque so the #'s are all screwed for a graph.

The car 1/4'd in mid to high 10's on my dyno which is pretty accurate.

Actually, here it is. Red is the converter unlocking (or slipping) .The green is converter unlocked,I even rolled it early and it flashed up a bit.

BTW- The car made 400rwhp on the unlocking/slipping run.

thats kind of a low lift for that much duration isnt it?

It is obvious the TC cant handle the power. Time to call Circle D!!!

I have yet to see a set of those Patriot heads make any kind of decent power.

Ya that's the graph there slowhawk did a great job tuning it it runs great I just felt like posting up tbe results for others to see and curious what others thought.

It seems a lot of people like the circle d converters better than yank?

Yank and VIG are both very reputable, respectable, proven Torque Converters. Bt Circle D has been producing incredible results and is a smaller company. The TC's recieve more attention while in production and are high quality. Many shops who have used Circle D recomend them.

top half of the motor seems to be choking it, but obviously a converter will will. let that mofo breathe.

I have run 3 different Yanks over the years. I tried a Circle D and it's NOT coming out of the car. Give Chris a call you wont regret the switch I sure wont look back. On a side note my factory bottom end LS2 made 455/395 on a Mustang dyno when it was tuned locally. My combo is in my signature.
