I found a 1997 Trans am Hatch for $120 ....
I'm going to pick it up tonight but I wasn't 100% sure it would fit my car
2000 Pontiac Formula
My question is will I have problems with the hatch since there seems to be differences between 93-97 and 98-02 birds?
I see changes more in the front bumper hood ect. ..
Well if someone can help I'd appreciate it thanks.

93-02 hatches are all the same. Will fit fine. Only issue you will have is with the window defroster. There should be a write up somewhere on how to make it work though. Very simple process. involves splicing wires. I think turning 2 wires into 3 or something like that. Pretty good deal. Is it color matching?

Yup will fit. If its color matching that pretty awesome deal. Like said above you have to splice wires. Im not sure if you need to go from 2 to 3 or from 3 to 2. Im sure someone will chime in, but its not something thats going to require a whole weekend to do.
Just make sure you get the T/A hatch struts/shocks too. The firebird/formula ones dont seem to lift and hold up the heavier t/a hatch.

^Agreed about the hatch struts. I still don't have a set and it gets kind of dangerous when getting things out of the hatch area. The TA hatch is really heavy!

There's 2 wires on the old hatch and 2 wires on the new one. Only difference is the 93-97's came with a 3 pin harness connector with an open cavity, and the 98-02's came with just a 2 pin harness connector. As was already said though, just cut and splice. The wires are the same colors, you really can't screw it up.
