Well I could not race the shoot out due to having a lsx motor in a mustang so I entered the nmca true street class and ended up with a 11.06 average. I didn't think it was good for the win but there were only about 10 cars or so in that class.
I had a 11.39-11.08-10.71 to bring the avg to 11.06. I am stoked for my first time ever entering a true street class. And I built the car for these kind of events. It flew through tech the first time with no problems.:D
It was a bitch trying to slow the car down to that speed. I unhooked the back barrels on the carb and it still went 10.60. Then I pulled 3 deg of timing and foot braked it in second gear shifting at 6K rpm's and that did it. 11.02 was that run. So that is how I ran it in the first round. But the car was leaning out and breaking up so it only ran a 11.39 on the first run and 11.08 on the 2nd run taking off in 1st gear foot braking it. So on the 3rd run I needed to make up time so I left off the trans brake and cut a 1.40 60' and went 10.71.
It was a great expeirence overall.
