Sorry for all the posts lately and I am not 100% sure if this is in the right section. But anyways, I have been considering getting heads for a while now and with winter coming up it would be the perfect time to do it. But today I was offered a brand new ZEX nitrous kit for 300$ from a good friend of mine. My question is which modification will be safer in the long run? I am already making 423rwhp cam only, I am assuming I could probably make 460rwhp with heads or more with a nitrous shot. But I dont care about speed when it comes to reliablility and durability. I dont care what it costs to buy a completely safe nitrous kit and have it tuned. So let me know what you guys think about this

A decent nitrous set up will cost you about 1k.

As for heads, what kind of car do you have would help. . . . . ?

Ah sorry, I have a full bolt on, trex cammed WS6. For fuel mods the only thing I have is 42 lb/hr svo's. Also I plan on using a small nitrous shot maybe 75 hp. I like to keep it safe.

i would get the kit... does it come with the window switch? heads will run you a lot more $$ and less Hp

75 shot < lol

Heads are a lot more work to use compared to nitrous.

I been considering the same thing. Heads or juice.

Do both. . . . . . Just one first. I am thinking heads. But, the price really depends on how wild you wanna go.

P&P 243's = 700 Bucks or so

Niceset of AFR's 2k+

There isn't a switch for your heads to work.. Go heads now and if you want the squeeze on it later, then so be it.. Also will give you time to save and forge the motor and then you can really give her the jug.. ;)

I would do heads first and then spray and when you do spray don't forget about a bigger fuel pump !

You know my vote..

Intake and heads.... Save the nitrous for later.. If you are already at 423 Rwhp then a nice intake (ported 92mm) and a set of heads like you are thinking should get you REALLY close to 500Rwhp.. Realistically around 475-480Rwhp, but still...... :pimp::pimp::pimp:

I would do a pump to be on the safe side, but you shouldn't need one.. 100$ is pocket change when talking a nice H/I swap.

Heads will compliment the cam well and give you power on demand. dont get me wrong, LS motors love nitrous, but having to pay 50 bucks to fill the bottle sucks. nitrous has a bad rep for being unsafe, as long as you take the correct measures just as in any mod, nitrous will be just as safe as any other mod. TUNE is key, fuel pressure safety switch, blow down tube, window switch, wide open throttle switch, this all adds up $$$$$$, but when you flip the switch and hit it you wont be thinkign about $$$$$. I would go heads and see what you want from there, you can always find nitrous ktis cheap, many on here for $300 so dont think that deal will never come around again.

Go for the heads man, having power all the time will really be a lot more fun and more reliable in the long run. It'll really wake that motor up with a cam like that. PS: your sig is fucking hilarious HAHA

what i did was just went with a cheaper option on heads (STOCK 243's) and threw them on and im using the extra money that i would of spent on a good set of ported heads on a kit..

Stage 1.5 LS6 heads from TSP can't beat bolting on another 40rwhp all the time...in this case since you already have a cam. IF you didn't already have a cam then I'd say N20 for sure.

Those heads suck for his cam.. It would be a waste if he has the money for a real set of heads.

Sure they add another 40 Rwhp, but look at where they add another 40 Rwhp compared to AFR heads. You will see why AFRs are so :pimp:.. Most people look at the peak numbers that two heads like that give you and say that AFRs aren't worth the money.. They don't pay attention to the whole curve.

Heads first! Power every time you flex your big toe instead of just when you want it.

I say heads being that you have a hefty cam already. If you was just a bolton car i would say n20
