What color is your '10 yellowbird? I ask because I went tonight and there was only one '10 there and it was the cool gray color.

And 98TA, how do you plan on going tomorrow night? I was pretty sure it was only open on Wed, Fri,and Sat.

He was having issues with traction control and competition mode (not to make excuses) I believe it was low 13's, i'm sure he will correct if i'm wrong.

Hah, no you wouldn't have. I drove a friend's Seville there and we just spectated. The guy at the gate just assumed that I didn't bring it to run, I'm sure it would have at least competed with the turbo PT cruiser! :engarde:

He was running low 13's from what I saw and that sucks about all the electronics getting in the way. Do you know if he knew the owner of the '10 GT500 he kept parking next to?

Oh and good luck 98TA on Sat and post up how you do, if you go!

i went last wednesday and revealed i need a serious driver mod. there was a slight mist all night and it kinda greased the track. my best time was 13.23 @ 94mph. i trapped 121 mph but cut a 15.89 with a 3.6 second 60' though so i know this car has 12 seconds in it. i was running 275/40 GS D3s at 30 psi. now i have some 26x11.50 ET Streets for this saturday so i'm shooting for mid 11s.

He waas running the 98 camaro grey with flames on the front. The SS would get off the line at all. 2.4 60ft all night. The third run the damn t/c was acting up. It came on even though it was showing to be off. Looking into tires for it now, that maybe what was messing with the t/c on the launch.

Oh, I think I saw him run too. Was he running low-mid 12s? There were a few 4th gens out there.

Sucks about the 60fts, was the IRS causing the hard time or just lack of traction all together? Thats definitely screwy with the T/C, hopefully theres a fix for it.

Don't get tires....go to a better track. Gainesville has slowly been turning into a craptastic track on Test and Tune days/nights. Track prep is non existent, and the owner is hated by a lot of the "faster" guys local here. There is a fab shop here in town that makes custom chasis and suspension. He refuses to test customer's cars at Gainesville because it's too dangerous to run a high hp car there due to lack of prep recently. He goes to either Valdosta or Brandenton.

If you are referring to Dan Neumann, I know he doesn't love Gainesville. But that doesn't mean the track sucks. The Rollins gang has plenty of stock suspension cars on drag radials in the 1.4x 60 foots at Gainesville. I know the sheer # of street tires can make the traction a little less than running a ton of slick tired cars to keep the groove up, but I believe the traction is a little better than you make it out to be.

Hey Derek. Yeah, I agree that the street tires are killing the prep for sure. I wish they would go to the street tires in right lane only, as some northern track do. I was there wednesday night..pulling 2.4's sixty's in my truck. It was like being on ice. I tried every trick I know and got it to one run of 1.97 sixty.

By the way, that was the first time I didn't see you at the track...lol !!

Derek

Well I won't be there for a while. I need Doc to adjust my tranny settings again. It decided to start bouncing off the limiter again on the 1-2 shift. On top of that, I have developed a bad vibration somewhere...from the bellhousing to the diff ??? I changed tires and rims so that is out. Also, I can shift to nutral/idle while rolling and the vib is still there, so the motor is ruled out. I can even feel it in the gas peddle. Starts to get bad about 52 mph on up.
Starting with drive shaft. Going to get it balanced this week. Tranny is new from EFI, diff is new tru-trac, yoke is new Billet and u-joint is new hardened.

Ya that's him. But, most of my experience is just being a spectator/racer for the last 6-7 years. I've just seen a big down fall in just the past couple years in traction there.

Anyways, I'll be able to make hooters this Thursday. Will be in a GT500 too :secret2:

I know Gainesville being a little more strict on tech versus other tracks doesn't help much either, but oh well. If the damn rain holds off, I may venture out tonight.

Hooters tomorrow sounds good, and look forward to seeing the GT500.

Don't care if you or your wife is scared of it. I'm driving a nicer/faster car than I have to a car meet. But since it's not an f-body I guess it's not worth owning or even driving to you :eyes: . Oh well, I can see past brands, some people can't I guess.

Derick, was that using a 2 step ? What psi is hooking for you ?

We didn't get her done yet. Still blowing by second gear into the limiter. I had to bail about 11:30 last night. My kid was an hour and a half out of Tallahassee and hit something metal in the road. Took out the rear tire and rim. You wouldn't believe the rim damage !! Looks like an axe hit it at 100 mph !! Never seen anything like this !

Pitt,

Sorry to hear about the bad luck on both fronts. Hope both can get fixed up soon!

The 1.422 was off the transbrake at 3000 rpm, and I also had a 1.439 off the footbrake. Both gave decent wheelies, but the TB 1.422 was an eye opener! I also had a 1.459 off the footbrake with a little chatter (that pass was my last of the night around 10). 18 psi seems to work good for me, but I know people that have tried more and less depending on weight and such.

Thx man, me too ! Going to take my drive shaft in Tuesday to see if that is causing my vibration. It's the original shaft so I am hoping it is tweaked a little and will fix my problem after a good balance job.

You have one hell of a good suspension on that car.

Derik,
Do you have experience with a scavenge pump ? I know you need some positive crankcase pressure. I need to take care of this excessive crankcase pressure problem. I was told 15-20 hp from the relief !

How do you not remove too much pressure (adjustable)?

How do you hook the pump up to an LS motor ?

Is the valvecover breather then removed ?
